An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Since Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced last week that Rep. Paul Ryan is his running mate, the media spotlight has been on the congressman’s Catholic faith as well as whether his budget plans are in line with his denomination’s social doctrine.
Ryan, a devout Catholic, is a member of St. John Vianney, a Catholic parish, in Janesville, Wis., where he was also an altar boy.
Not being a Catholic, I have no idea what the ‘social doctrine’ is, but what I do know, is that many Catholics in the United States are totally clueless about what is actually IN the Bible. Nancy Pelosi is a good example. But does anyone else find it ironic that the media, and the loony left, are scrutinizing Ryan’s faith, yet gave Obama’s a BIG pass? “God **** America!” Personal opinion, I don’t think Obama actually has any faith, except in himself. Many say he’s a Muslim, he says he’s a Christian. Well, he does prefer Muslims over Christians, but actually, he’s more a self worshiper. Sad.
It seems to me that when ritual replaces the Word, there is something seriously wrong, and those following such a denomination tend to lose focus of what the TRUE teachings are, and should be followed. Our society has lost it’s way, and many have replaced God with government. To my knowledge, it doesn’t say anything in the Bible about the government taking money from those who earned it, to give to those who don’t….or won’t. It’s my understanding that Christ teaches us to give…of our own free will…to aid the poor and hungry, to help those in need. It is our duty.
However, when the government replaces the teachings of Christ, bad things happen. Think Nazi Germany, USSR, Mao’s China, among many others. Right now, we are on a path of destruction, one of our own making. Well, not mine….I didn’t vote for him, but you know what I mean. These ‘nuns’ who are traveling around the country, denouncing Ryan’s budget, obviously haven’t even read it. Here’s a summary, all 73 pages, from the House Committee. I would suggest they read it, and anyone else who has issues, thinking the man/child in chief has a better plan.
We have a choice. Do we want to continue on the same destructive path, or do we want a brighter future for our children and grandchildren. Keeping Obama in the White House will assure our destruction. Voting for a REAL change, one that could well lead us back to the path of prosperity, seems to be a much better choice.
If Congressman Ryan’s faith keeps him on the RIGHT path, who are these so called Catholics to question? Seems to me, they’ve gone off on the WRONG path, and might want to do a bit of studying. Just a thought.
