An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Book Recommendations
I’ve been doing a LOT of reading lately….more so that usual. Well, basically, that’s about all I’ve been able to do. LONG story, but suffice it to, I haven’t been all that functional.
1- Anyway, I mentioned a book on Kindle by Cindy Kilkenny of Fairly Conservative fame, with some pretty telling photos by Nick Schweitzer.
Apparently, I had forgotten you can actually read it on your computer if you don’t have a Kindle, so I would recommend getting it! It’s not a really long book, but it is extremely readable, and quite informative! Unless you have been living under a rock, you will be familiar with the doings in Wisconsin since Scott Walker was elected, and took office in January of 2011. Cindy gives us a timeline, and includes a number of items you likely never heard on the evening news. If you have any interest in current affairs, politics, and the future of the country, this would be a good choice. Learn what we are up against as a nation through the example of Wisconsin.
2- Back in March, fellow blogger Wyatt (Shawn Goodwin) of Support Your Local Gunfighter released his very first attempt at fiction writing, with Pamela Meister. I said buy it! Have you? *tapping toes*
I gave my unprofessional opinion back in April, I really did enjoy it, and have been bugging him to do a sequel. Heh. Yeah… I can be a pest. One thing that chaps my hide…they lowered the price AFTER I already bought it. Is this a Murphy’s Law thing?
Quite affordable on Kindle now, at $3.99! *glare*
3- If you want a chin dropper of faith and redemption, I HIGHLY recommend The Lost Testament by Brian Thompson (Kindle $2.99).
Set in the early 1960s North Carolina, with all the ugliness that entails. I don’t often give a book 5 stars, but this one, I had to (on Amazon). It was well written, with twists and turns, and quite a surprise ending. I wonder if Mr Thompson will write a sequel? I should be so lucky. sigh….
Well, that should keep y’all busy for a while. There are a LOT more I could recommend. I’m finding that some of those free, or VERY low priced Kindle books are pretty dadburn good.

“that’s about all I’ve been able to do”
Let’s see, cold damp wx that makes the parts of your body that have been fixed ache like the blazes.
Little energy, shopping must be done in the morning; because, by afternoon everything hurts and you are toooo tired to do much.
And, you don’t even get a tee-shirt!!!!
Heh. That t-shirt would have to say “USELESS”. LOL
Seems that we have a new ‘Normal’.
Used to be, a good day was a day when all went well.
Now, since a ‘Bad Day’ is terrible, a ‘good day’ is a day when things don’t go so bad!!
Heh. I’d be happy with an ok day once in a while. LOL
