Ann Romney Explains Reversal On Abortion

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, said Thursday on ABC’s “The View” stem cell research change her husband’s mind on abortion.

“He could not have, on his conscience, creating human life for experimentation,” Ann Romney said. “That’s when he came out saying he was pro life. I think we all have to understand this is an issue that is so tender and there are people on both sides of the issue, with very good conscience, coming with a different opinion.”

Mitt Romney said he fully supported abortion rights when he ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2002.

It occurs to me that there are many people, especially on the left, who have never had a serious life changing event. When you all of a sudden get that “EUREKA” moment, and you realize you have been WRONG about something. It seems to me that Mitt Romney had one of those life altering moments in his position on abortion.

I know many people, myself included, who once bought into the idea that abortion was ok. I never really believed in it, but was of the mind that it wasn’t up to me to tell someone else what to do with their bodies. Then it hit me….it wasn’t THEIR bodies we were talking about…it was someone elses body, a human being, with all the human being parts, that were being ripped to shreds.

How ever Governor Romney got to his decision, I’m glad he did. I just wish more people would have the sense and decency to realize…these are CHILDREN that are being murdered…not a lump of cells…created by God in His own image.  How many Albert Einsteins, Booker T Washingtons, Ludwig von Beethovens, Marie Curies, Frederick Douglas’, Louis Pasteurs, George Washington Carvers, Jonas Salks, Charles Martin Halls, and Frederick M Jones’ have been lost to the butchers who pass themselves off as ‘doctors’? Which of you ‘lump of cells’ females slaughtered the child who would grow up to find a cure for cancer, childhood diabetes, or become the teacher who opens young minds to all the possibilities?
