Don’t blame Romney
by Ann Coulter
We spent billions of dollars and billions of words on an election to switch from President Obama, a Democratic Senate and a Republican House to President Obama, a Democratic Senate and a Republican House.Every election predictor was wrong, except one: Incumbents usually win.
Republicans have taken out a sitting president only once in the last century, and that was in 1980 when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter. Sadly, Reagan’s record remains secure.
The Democrats ran up against the incumbency problem in 2004. The landslide election for Democrats in 2006 suggests that Americans were not thrilled with Republicans around the middle of the last decade. And yet in 2004, President George W. Bush beat John Kerry more handily than Obama edged past Romney this week.
Democratic candidate John Kerry won 8 million more votes than Al Gore did in 2000, and he still couldn’t win. All the Democrats’ money, media, Bush Derangement Syndrome and even a demoralized conservative base couldn’t trump the power of incumbency in 2004.
Election 2012: Tommy VS Tammy
from The Bunker
Election 2012…. what a nail biter! I cleaned mine off clear down to the first knuckle. That was on my left hand. Thank God, because my trigger finger is on the right.
I voted for Mitt Romney and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan. They lost. I also voted for good-ole Tommy Thompson, former Governor of Wisconsin. He lost. Good-ole Tommy didn’t just lose to any ole cheese head, nope, he lost to a real lunatic, Tammy Baldwin. For those of you not from the Badger state let me enlighten you about Tammy Baldwin.
First, let me tell you something about a Badger. The Badger is a ferocious little critter that kind of looks like a skunk but will tear your knee caps off if you don’t agree with his political views. Us Badgers voted for our current Governor Scott Walker, twice! The phony Badgers, the ones who look and smell more like skunks, voted for Tammy Baldwin. It’s hard to explain in words how radical Tammy Baldwin is. I think an analogy might work.
Imagine Tammy Baldwin as a Greek Goddess, she’s not really that hot but this is just an analogy, OK? Goddess Tam would spend her days gazing down at her disgusting subjects drinking Starbucks coffee and spitting out granola seeds. When she got bored she would climb into her Chevy volt and cruise to the far side of Mount Olympus to wreak havoc on anyone who didn’t worship her. Solar powered lightning bolts would shoot from her fingers destroying “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and gun shops. She would conjure up global warming super tornadoes to destroy the dwellings of Right to Lifer’s and suck all the money from their wallets to fund the Greek version of planned parenthood. I am sure that after such a hard day of ruling Goddess Tam would be exhausted. A little rest and relaxation on the Isle of Lesbos would be in order, yeah our Goddess Tam swings in that direction. Maybe she could hook up with the Goddess of Homeland Security?
Well America, that’s the best I can do to give you a little green and gold (Go Pack!) perspective on Wisconsin’s next Senator, Tammy Baldwin. But hey, look on the bright side it’s only for six, miserable, disgusting years. I guess all the real Badgers dug in early for the long winter ahead.
I wish I could say I feel as optimistic as some people seem. One I’ve come across on FaceBook, James Robbins, has got to be the most upbeat of all. I told him he needs to send some of that down my way!
In the back of my mind, I knew this was going to happen, but I had hopes that enough people had woken up to what is really going on in this country. I put too much faith in the 47% who cast their vote for what I can only call the spawn of Satan. I guess that would be the 47% that Mitt Romney spoke of? Either way, it wasn’t just the Republicans, or the conservatives that lost. It was America.
We truly are the “daughter of Babylon”. We will get the just judgement. Just don’t say you weren’t warned, that you didn’t know. The fact is, you didn’t want to know , you CHOSE not to know, and now, let the spiral truly begin.
Now Is a Time for Commitment
I write to tell you to take heart.
Yes, conservatives are disappointed that a President who recklessly spent trillions, expanded government and put many of our values and institutions at risk has won a second term. But many of us have been here before. In Washington, there are no permanent victories or permanent defeats, just permanent battles.
Now is the time to stand up and declare we will continue to fight against big government and for freedom.
We will see unfold over the next four years a crucial battle for the soul of America. This struggle requires committed warriors for the cause. The line must be held against bad policy while we continue advocating conservative solutions. We must fight against the efforts to divide the country through class warfare.
Rest assured this is what The Heritage Foundation is determined to do.
But you sure as hell broke it!
Stocks took a sharp nosedive across the board Wednesday in the wake of President Barack Obama’s re-election, triggered by worries over the looming “fiscal cliff” and as fears over Europe’s economy reemerged.
The Dow fell below 13,000, while the S&P 500 traded under 1,400 for the first time since early September.
