An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

HAAAAAAD to snag this from Anne on FB!
Biographer Paula Broadwell could be facing questions about whether she revealed classified information about the Libya attack that she was privy to due to her relationship with then-CIA Director David Petraeus.
At an Oct. 26 speech at her alma mater, the University of Denver, on the same day that Fox News reported that the rescue team at the CIA annex had been denied help, Broadwell was asked about Petraeus’ handling of the Benghazi situation.
Her response was reported originally by Israel’s Arutz Sheva and Foreign Policy’s Blake Hounshell.
Ummm…excuse me, but why would an Israeli news outlet be reporting on something of this magnitude, while our feckless media is silent? Oh, that’s right, because our so called media SUCKS!
Broadwell quoted the Fox News report when she said: “The facts that came out today were that the ground forces there at the CIA annex, which is different from the consulate, were requesting reinforcements.”
Broadwell went on to explain more sensitive details from the Benghazi attacks, particularly concerning what the real cause might have been.
“Now, I don’t know if a lot of you heard this, but the CIA annex had actually, um, had taken a couple of Libyan militia members prisoner and they think that the attack on the consulate was an effort to try to get these prisoners back. So that’s still being vetted.”
Ok…let’s face it…. Petraeus should have kept his britches zipped. What is it with some males? Is the need to go ‘poking around’ so strong, they have NO self control? Not to mention SHE shouldn’t have been hunting in someone else’s backyard! But, beyond the ‘HO factor’, what the blazes is she doing giving speeches about sensitive issues? Piece of advice for any of you high and mighty types who might be thinking of a biography…do NOT let this woman near ya!
In the original Oct. 26 Fox News report, sources at the annex said that the CIA’s Global Response Staff had handed over three Libyan militia members to the Libyan authorities who came to rescue the 30 Americans in the early hours of Sept. 12.
A well-placed Washington source confirms to Fox News that there were Libyan militiamen being held at the CIA annex in Benghazi and that their presence was being looked at as a possible motive for the staged attack on the consulate and annex that night.
Looks like things are going to get a WHOLE lot stickier for the Obama administration. YouTube? Seriously, that’s the story y’all stuck with for weeks, while the rest of the country KNEW it was a terror attack? Wouldn’t the Secretary of State, and the POTUS know that there might be a couple of bad guys being held at the compound? I mean, isn’t it their JOB to know these things?
According to multiple intelligence sources who have served in Benghazi, there were more than just Libyan militia members who were held and interrogated by CIA contractors at the CIA annex in the days prior to the attack. Other prisoners from additional countries in Africa and the Middle East were brought to this location.
The Libya annex was the largest CIA station in North Africa, and two weeks prior to the attack, the CIA was preparing to shut it down. Most prisoners, according to British and American intelligence sources, had been moved two weeks earlier.
Oh, this is just peachy. When you take into account that there may have been terrorists being held at the compound, and those at the compound had been begging for more security, screaming for reinforcements when the attack came, and they were told NO, repeatedly, or just plain ignored, the administration is more than just incompetent! With the blood of those four men on their hands, they are murderers!
The CIA, though, categorically denied these allegations, saying: “The CIA has not had detention authority since January 2009, when Executive Order 13491 was issued. Any suggestion that the agency is still in the detention business is uninformed and baseless.”
Well, of course they do! Seriously, do you think the CIA would admit to a ‘secret’ detention center? I would certainly HOPE not! Jeeez! Whether there was, or was not, terrorists being held in the compound, the administration is STILL responsible for the deaths of those four men, and the injuries sustained by others. Is anyone working for the State Department overseas, or anywhere, for that matter, ever going to be able to trust their “superiors” again? I sure as hell wouldn’t!
Broadwell, whose affair with Petraeus reportedly ended earlier this year, continued to serve as an informal spokesman for the CIA director. She suggests in her Denver speech that Petraeus knew almost immediately that the attack was a terror attack — possibly to free militia members.
Did she have security clearance? Why was she kept around? Was she a plant? And I don’t mean potted!
A few days later, Petraeus testified in a closed session to Congress that the attack was due in large part to an anti-Islam video and a spontaneous uprising, according to reports from the hearing.
Why did the general, who has served this nation honorably, LIE to Congress???
Congressional leaders say privately they believe they were lied to by Petraeus when he testified shortly after the attack. Some of these members already considered charging Petraeus with perjury, but said they planned to withhold judgment until he testified this week. After resigning as CIA director, the CIA said Acting Director Mike Morrell would testify in his place.
Nuh uh! I want Petraeus to answer the questions! I don’t care if he resigned, he’s still obligated to the American people to present the TRUTH! I know that word has little mean in Washington, D.C., but it means a hell of a lot out here in the REAL world! He took an oath! That oath doesn’t end when leaves the military, or when he steps down from a government position. That oath is STILL IN EFFECT! And if I’m not mistaken, when you testify in front of Congress, you take an oath to tell the truth. Otherwise, it’s called perjury! Did Petraeus perjure himself to protect the Obama administration (I had thought better of him at one time), or was it to protect himself.
And what about that little issue of U.S. made stinger missiles in Syria?
I also want Clinton AND Obama in front of Congress, UNDER OATH! I want answers! TRUE answers! And I’m not the only one! We pay your salaries, YOU work for US! If you can’t do the job you’re hired to do, and honor your oaths of office, then, try to find what little honor may be hiding in your soul, and resign….en masse! We’ll take it from here!
“…shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God.”
Those of us who have never been to war have no idea what these men and women go through. We can’t understand the horrors, or the close camaraderie. We can listen to our friends and family who have experienced more in a rather short period of time, than we will in our entire lifetimes, but we will never truly understand. All we can do is thank them, hug them, pray for them, and be there when they need us. Hopefully, we can help to heal the wounds, both physical, mental, and emotional. May God Bless each and every one!
Hear a Veteran’s Story
For nearly 100 years, America has been celebrating on November 11. Originally it was to remember the end of the First World War that was supposed to be the one that would end them all. Sadly, this was not the case. In 1952, a small town in Kansas started to use the date to remember veterans of all America’s wars. Two years later, President Dwight Eisenhower recognized the brilliant stroke of a small group of “regular” Americans by making it a national holiday.
Some cynics today would say we should grow past the parades and the thousands of memorial ceremonies in small parks across America. May it never be so! Every generation of Americans has had men and women step forward and stand for this nation. Every new generation needs to learn to acknowledge the debt the nation owes them.
As we honor those who have died in the service of the nation on Memorial Day, we must acknowledge those who have served on Veterans Day.
