Mayan apocalypse: panic spreads as December 21 nears

Ahead of December 21, which marks the conclusion of the 5,125-year “Long Count” Mayan calendar, panic buying of candles and essentials has been reported in China and Russia, along with an explosion in sales of survival shelters in America. In France believers were preparing to converge on a mountain where they believe aliens will rescue them.

The precise manner of Armageddon remains vague, ranging from a catastrophic celestial collision between Earth and the mythical planet Nibiru, also known as Planet X, a disastrous crash with a comet, or the annihilation of civilisation by a giant solar storm.

In America Ron Hubbard, a manufacturer of hi-tech underground survival shelters, has seen his business explode.

“We’ve gone from one a month to one a day,” he said. “I don’t have an opinion on the Mayan calendar but, when astrophysicists come to me, buy my shelters and tell me to be prepared for solar flares, radiation, EMPs (electromagnetic pulses) … I’m going underground on the 19th and coming out on the 23rd. It’s just in case anybody’s right.”

In the French Pyrenees the mayor of Bugarach, population 179, has attempted to prevent pandemonium by banning UFO watchers and light aircraft from the flat topped mount Pic de Bugarach.

Seriously people? UFOs?  I don’t suppose it has occurred to anyone that maybe the Mayans just got tired, or broke their chisel?  Naw…didn’t think so.  Heh.  Ok, so according to the Mayans, the world is going to end.  Actually, no, it’s not, and they never said so.  When ya get right down to it, the world as we knew it, ended a few years ago, and I see no problem with hoarding some items that might become scarce it the not too distant future.  But there is one Book, in which many prophecies have already come true, and many more than haven’t happened quite yet, and I’m inclined to believe THAT one, since it’s been pretty accurate so far.

  versus    ??

The Hopi Indians have prophecies too, that more coincides with what is in the Bible.  The different ages of man sometimes transitions smoothly, sometimes, not so much, but everything changes from time to time, and perhaps, this is one of those times?  I don’t think it’s been a smooth transition thus far, do you?

Consider the so called Arab Spring, the riots in Greece, the betrayal of the American people by the Crapper in Chief, and future betrayals we all know are coming.  Life on this planet is getting down right scary, but all predicted, so, just be prepared for what is to come…but the world won’t be ending on 21 December, it’s just gonna get a whole lot scarier.  Be more concerned with the open border, and the Islamonazis!  Keep an eye on North Korea, Russia, and the Islamic states.  And prepare accordingly.

Over the last couple of thousand years there have been at least a couple of hundred such predictions of the coming end.

No one has gotten it right yet.

I am more concerned about when the next warm and not so damp day is going to be, aches and pains are tiresome.     :(

Well, when predictions come from man, yeah…our species tend to get it wrong.  Heh.  And I’m with ya on that warm DRY day.  Old age sucks.  Falling apart sucks even more.  :?
