An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Today was the BIG day. Yep…went and got stabbed at dawn’s crack, and ya know what? It wasn’t near as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part was the IV. Jeeeez, I hate those things. I’m just thankful they didn’t stick me in the hand like they said they would, cuz, for one thing, I have small hands, and another, I have small veins. And lemme tell ya…getting stabbed repeatedly by someone who isn’t very good at it in the hand is PAINFUL!
As most folks know, I’m NOT a morning person, but I did manage to wake up at 5:30, after the phone woke the Mr up. Heh. Took my shower, got dressed, packed, and made it to the place before 7am. UGH! Lucky for me, I was the first to arrive for that particular doc, so I got in and out in about an hour. If we had been just a couple of minutes later, I would have had to wait. Not good with no coffee and not enough sleep!
The doc did his thing, only felt a bit of a stick with the initial numbing shots, and then…a bit of pressure…and VIOLA’! All done. Now, I’m suppose to keep a pain diary of the first 14 days. This should be interesting. I’ll be dealing with family during that time. Someone wanna remind me to keep up with it? LOL
I got the impression that this was just the first of a series of treatments I’ll be getting, since it’s my entire back that is affected. He told me if this does what it’s suppose to do the first time around, then we’ll move on to the thoracic. If not, we’ll have to do another round in the lumbar. Eventually, it seems he’ll be moving up to the cervical, and then I’ll be all better. Yeah…. right! Heh. I should be so lucky.
The first thing I did when we got out of there….made the Mr stop at the first C-store for COFFEE! I also popped a pain killer. What is suppose to help the pain, causes pain, so I was allowed! I was also told if I felt the need, to put ice on the area. I finally broke down, and did it! LOL Ice is cold, don’cha know! Really glad I still had the bag of Kayro in the freezer from the knee replacement! Works great, and molds to your bod!
So, now I’m sitting here, trying to catch up on posting, comments, and the idjits. Be thankful I DID take that pain killer. The idjits might have brought out the CRANKY side of me!
