An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Via my U.S. Rep, Marsha Blackburn:
It seems the Obama Administration rewrote key Obamacare implementation practices and the latest one is a doozy. It removes the requirement to verify income and health insurance status. As the National Review’s recent article states, it’s an invitation to fraud. This is just one piece of this train wreck we’re working to stop. Tennesseans know that one of that one of the lessons learned from the early days of Tenncare is that you can’t disregard the verification of eligibility when you’re spending other people’s money.
To that end, as Vice Chair of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, my colleagues and I launched an investigation into the delay of the Obamacare employer mandate. Also, I’ve co-sponsored legislation to repeal the Obamacare definition of full-time employment.
We aren’t giving up on repealing Obamacare, but while we work for that, my colleagues and I are working to stop the parts of it we can.
I’ve got to get back to work, but wanted to take a minute and let you know one of the things I’m working on this week.
