An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Now, I’m sure everyone has heard of the big ‘break up’ between Phil Robertson, patriarch of Duck Dynasty fame, and the network, A&E. Until Duck came along, I had no use for the channel at all, since they have been going downhill for years, and quality is apparently not a priority.
They finally come up with a show that is filled with what the American public has been hungry for, and they slap us all in the face by telling us OUR values have no merit, so suspend Phil from future taping. Oh yes, that was a brilliant move! To quote Todd Starnes, “Between you and me, I think Duck Dynasty ought to indefinitely suspend A&E.”
Can I get an AMEN??
The left has attempted to change Christianity into something it was never meant to be. You don’t change the Word of God. Period! You are asking for serious problems when you make such an attempt, and here we are…in a society that ‘publicly accepts’ a perversion of His Word. That just don’t fly! No, Mr(?) Cruz (GLADD), YOU are wrong!
As a Christian, I can love you as a person, but I do not, nor will I, accept such a lifestyle that is contrary to God’s Word. As Christians, it is our duty to point out the error, and pray with, and for, you. It is your choice to leave the sin behind, or continue to embrace it, but it is not our duty to accept the continuance of said sin, no matter the sin.
When Mr Robertson made his statement, he was pretty much quoting the Word of God:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
No, Christians aren’t perfect, and any who claim to be? Well, they’re freakin’ liars! We ALL fall short(Romans 3:23)! It is our obligation to strive to be more Christlike, but we won’t ever achieve that goal. We can’t. We’re flawed humans. God loves us anyway. Yes, He even loves the sinner, but that doesn’t mean He won’t have the appropriate punishment waiting in the wings. It’s our choice. We can follow God’s Word, or man’s word. Me? I choose God! And apparently, so does Phil Robertson, and the rest of the Robertson clan!
We were lost, but now we’re found…through that Amazing Grace! Try it…ya might find you really, REALLY, like it!
