An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

News From Marsha

Happy New Year! After one deep freeze, I hope you are enjoying and taking advantage of the warmer weather this weekend. The House went back into session this week and I wanted to take a few minutes and give you an update on the new year.

Many of you have heard me address the issue of the Virtual YOU. I’ve been fighting to protect your online data and wanted to share a victory in that fight. The administration has repeatedly failed to address my concerns regarding the Obamacare website’s security risks. You deserve to know if your personal information on the health care law’s exchanges has been jeopardized in any way. I am an original cosponsor of this legislation and helped push this to the House floor and went to speak in support of it.

It’s been over a month now since fellow colleagues Steve Scalise, Dr Phil Roe, and I sent a letter to President Obama asking him to meet with us to discuss the future of health care in our country. The Republican Study Committee introduced the American Health Care Reform Act to reform health care without the unworkable mandates in the current law. It’s been over a month and we still haven’t heard back from President Obama.

Wanted to make sure you’d seen my interview with Chris Jansing. I am against extending the unemployment benefits. The pathway to prosperity is not through another $26 billion government program, it’s through a job. House Republicans have passed over 40 jobs bills in the 113th Congress. Senator Reid has an obligation to take those bills up as we work to help create an environment where America’s job creators can create jobs.

Enjoy your weekend,
Marsha

I delete the letters I got from Rokita and Coats. I guess I have been jaded.
I keep reading their for this bill and their votes are doing something else. Mostly with Coats. I am so done with them especially Donnelly. I want new senators and represenative at this point. I am tired of the frustration of watching this circus. I am at the point where if any people of congress and senate say anything I can’t believe them. That its bad I know, lol.

Not bad at all! Actually, rather typical these days. It’s gotten really hard to trust anyone in D.C. There are a few…a VERY few…I think are deserving, but that’s about it. As for Marsha, well, she’s pretty decent and is mostly on OUR side. She has her moments, but then again, don’t they all? She’s been a decent rep, but her conservative numbers are sliding, and this doesn’t make me too happy. The way I look at it… I could have gotten stuck with a LOT worse as a rep…like Steve Cohen over in Memphis. UGH! LOL Our senators pretty much suck, especially Alexander, who we REALLY want to send home. RINO is a polite way of putting it!
