Now, I don’t know if Rob had this dilemma or not, but I have no idea how many ‘followers’ my favorites have.  To be honest, I don’t even know how many I have.  But, I’ll give it my best shot.  I’m guessing I can’t name him, cuz he’s already gotten his award.  I might have a tough time limiting it to just five.    So….

DANG!  That was a LOT harder than I thought it would be!  Changed a few a couple of times.   Only five?  UGH!  I’ve definitely got more than five favorites.  sigh…  The rules don’t say I can’t have honorable mentions, does it?  Shoot, if I did that, I’d be here all day, making links to all my favorites.  Heh.  Let’s see, there’s Badger Blogger, Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. (when she ever gets around to posting anything, it usually pretty darn good stuff!).  Then there’s Cmblake6′s, Grandpa John’s…..the list would get very long!  So, I’m gonna leave it at that.  Oh, and we mustn’t forget the afore mentioned American and Proud as well! 

So, Chris and I set out for Papa’s Social Club in Milwaukee. There have been a LOT of changes to the freeways, and I’m rather impressed. No doubt, the next time I come up here, they will be redoing the whole shebang….again. Cuz, y’know….that’s what gubmints do….they fix things that ain’t broke, and tinker to the point that….well…y’all know.

It was a wee bit windy, but honestly, it wasn’t THAT windy. Heh.  Naturally, to me, it was quite chilly.  But you know these Yankee types are….they consider anything above freezing (32 degrees) balmy.  Imagine the amusement they got out of my red fox jacket… hey….I was cold!  However, sitting outside in the sun a couple of time, it really wasn’t too bad….till the the wind blew…and then, Chris AND AB commented on the chill. 

Some of my favorite folks showed up.  And a couple are sick, so didn’t show.    Left to right…Kevin, AB, Sam, Fred, Tammy, Chad…ok…yeah, we let him live…and Dan, who got a $10 donation for his campaign.  I got a bumper sticker.  Yup…I’m gonna put a “Stand With Walker” bumper sticker on my Tennessee truck!  No, Mr Ol’ Broad….not on the bumper.  I can tape it in the back window.

And what do you do in a social club?  Why, you socialize, of course.  DUH!  L to R… Chris, Cindy, some guy with his back showing, Dan, Ric, and Ric’s dad.

Once again, I am abused by Cindy and Chris.  It’s become such a habit, I don’t even remember what it was this time.  *snicker*

And of course, we have my favorite Badger hugging buddy, Patrick.  You can see how much he likes having his picture taken. Lookin’ so good hon!! 

I’m not sure why I didn’t take more pictures, but if I come across some that others too, I’ll add ‘em.  Steve was also in attendance, but for some reason, I didn’t get a picture of several folks.  He and a lady named Mary are the only ones I can think of right now, although, someone said Dad29 was there, but I wouldn’t swear to it since I’ve never met him.  And where the blazes is Frank???  Couldn’t have sworn I got a shot of him.  sigh….  Oh yeah… Wiggy was there too.

Along with getting together with some terrific folks, there were also donations for our troops that Chris will send to her son, who will share with others in his unit, and maybe other units as well.  There is a LOT of stuff to pack into boxes for shipping.  I think I’ll volunteer to help her get some of it packed.  Can’t do ALL of it, cuz…well, the Mr expects me to be home sometime before the end of the year.    Yup…LOTS of stuff!

Sadly, Chris hadn’t been feeling too well all day, and she starting feeling even worse.    So we left before most of the others.  Poor baby seems to have contracted the creeping crud that seems to be going around up here.  (uh oh…praying I don’t get it too…but I won’t be gettin’ too close…. Heh!)

I really love coming up here and spending time with Chris and her family.  Good people, and they haven’t dug a hole in the back yard to bury me yet, so I guess all is well.  LOL

An anti-Muslim hate blog that contained inflammatory comments has been taken down by its hosting company after numerous complaints from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, PR Newswire reports.

Since when do we cave to American hating animals?  Oh yeah…since everything is supposedly offensive to murderous thugs, we must placate their little egos.  Well, actually, they are rather LARGE egos, and have been growing since some fool claimed Islam was a ‘religion of peace’.  Yeah…so peaceful that murdering women and children is a daily occurrence with them! And what has the U.S. policy been concerning these oh so peaceful animals? Why, they’ve opened the door and welcomed them in, to wreak havoc on our entire society. Islam and our Constitution do NOT mix! If you need proof, I have quite an archive under the category “religion of pieces”. There are plenty of visuals to keep you entertained for hours. Make sure you have a barf bag ready though! Many of the pictures are extremely gruesome….brought to you by…..drum roll please….. ISLAM!

They say that most people learned about Islam on 9/11. That might be true for many, but not for me. I have known about it for as long as I can remember. How? Well, if you have been coming around here for a while, you might already know, but I’ll share a bit anyway. You see, my adoptive mother was a first generation American. Her parents immigrated from Lebanon. Yep…that Lebanon, over there in the Middle East. Why were her mother and father sent to the U.S. by their parents, when they were both just teenagers? Because those oh so peaceful Muslims came into their village, and SLAUGHTERED a large number of those living there. Why? Because the village was a CHRISTIAN village. The stories I grew up with makes it possible for me to KNOW these animals are not worth spit! This was long before any ‘uprising’, it was just a regular occurrence in the area. Muslims have been murdering Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc., for as long as there has been Islam. That’s what they do! They even murder fellow Muslims if they don’t consider them Muslim enough. To me that translates to if you don’t adhere to the lying, cheating, pedophilia, murdering dictates of Mohammed, then you get to die too. They bow to a god of hatred. Allah is NOT the same God of Christians and Jews!

CAIR, and organizations like it, are dangerous to this country and must be stopped. We have a 1st Amendment and honestly, I think we have been more than tolerant of their hatred. You can’t say the same for them. There is NO tolerance is Islam. NONE! A constant violation of our freedom of speech can be pointed at this particular organization. Their attempts to silence people like Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, and now Bare Naked Islam, IS a violation of our Constitutional rights, which come from God. Allah ain’t in the picture!

People are justifiably angry. Do we continue to cave to the demands of the evil, or do we stand up and say NO MORE!  I do not advocate violence toward anyone.  Nor have I ever called for the destruction of anything.  I do believe we have to eject those who would destroy us.   The 1st Amendment doesn’t protect someone yelling FIRE in a crowded theater when there is no fire.  Does it protect us from telling the truth about a murderous political cult?  Evidently not.

Pray for all of our sanity.

Well, I now have my laptop computer back where it belongs…. IN MY LAP! I called Best Buy first thing this morning, and talked to the young fella who actually checked me in. NOT the one who took so much time explaining, repeatedly, why he couldn’t take my computer last Thursday, which, if he had stopped bumping his gums, could have taken my computer, instead of wasting time. *shakes head* Nope, it was the one who actually knew what he was doing, and only took about 5 minutes to get it done!

When I pulled into Best Buy’s parking lot, I caught sight of one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.

The tags were from New York, but I obviously cut that part off.  Privacy and all that, don’cha know.  I just had to take a picture.  Yep, they need to wash it, but still….

You know, of course, while I was over there in Jackson, I had to do a bit of shopping.  I was actually looking for a couple of maternity tops.  NO, not for me….for Brat Jr!

For the first time in her life, her boobs don’t stick out farther than her belly.  *snicker*  I’m really NOT old enough for this.  sigh…  I had no idea that preggers shirts were so unbelievably ugly!  Even I wouldn’t wear the ones I saw today.    Talk about OLD woman shirts!  For HOW much???  Sheesh!  I’m not aware of any 90 year old broads that get preggers.

Then, I was lookin’ at the preggers britches. 

Excuse me, but I didn’t see any gold or platinum on those things.  They were just your plain blue jean type britches with that stretchy panel thingy on the front!

But that store evidently thinks they are something REAL special!  Think about it.  This one pair of britches that a woman will only wear for a few months could pay for a couple weeks groceries for a family of 4.  Years ago, it probably could have fed that same family for a month or two.  Gracious sakes!  Well, I can tell ya…we will be hitting Goodwill or the Salvation Army…or any other second hand store we can find while we’re down there in Podunk Texas for Christmas.

So, anyways….now, I don’t have to re-arrange the Mr’s desk anymore.  He’s left handed, and has everything on the WRONG side.  I’ve no doubt he’ll be pleased to not have to put everything back where he had it. 

As you might know, I was having issues with my laptop and my phone, the piece of crap Android X. Well, since I had to go see Dr Dimples on Thursday, in Jackson, for another follow up, I figured I might as well try to get everything done while I was in Jackson. Since Jackson is between and hour and 15 minutes, to an hour and a half, when we go over there, it just make sense to do all ya can instead of making multiple trips. Granted, gas prices have gone down a bit, but I see them creeping back up, so why waste both time and gas doing a back and forth for up to 3 hours each time, right? Yep, made sense to me too.

So, I get to Jackson and head straight to Best Buy, which is where I was foolish enough to purchase the contraption. I stand in line, watching the clock tick. My doc’s appointment is for 2:15. I actually got there in plenty of time, sorta, to explain the problem, and drop it off. Well, the dude behind the counter, contrary to his appearance, had to be in the 90 to 95 year range. No one in their 20s could move that slow intentionally, could they?

When it finally got to be my turn, all the while looking at my watch, I explained to him the problems I was having, and asked to drop it off, and come back. At this point, I had about 12 minutes to make it to the doc’s. He informed me that it would take at least 15 minutes to check it in. Why? I give him my name and other pertinent information, leave the computer, go to my appointment, come back afterwards, and go from there. Nope! He informs me they have to input a bunch of info into the computer, have me sign a variety of papers, and only then, can he take my computer. Seriously? Has business gotten so bad, that they have to make it a major ordeal to get anything fixed? Evidently. So, me being me, I said forget it, I’ll come back. I don’t have time for you to pussy foot around. Naturally, I walk out the store, grumbling, out loud of course, said to the greeter/security/info type guy, “I don’t know why the hell anyone does business with this store, if they go out of their way to make your life a bit more complicated!” He just smiled. Smart dude! Under normal circumstances, I have a lot more patience with young idjits. They can’t help it if they are raised as a generations of slackers. NOT all, mind you, but a great many of them who work in the customer service/retail business are a real pain in the hinder! That tech dude was one of ‘em.

So, I take my uncooperative computer, get it under the backseat as best I can, and make it to my doc’s office with a full 60 seconds to spare. Naturally, you always have to wait a bit, but this guy is pretty good at getting you in quite close to your appointed time. I only had to wait 5 minutes. The report? I’m doing pretty good, and there are days I am absolutely going to hate him. His words. Heh. He also informed me that at my next appointment, they will be taking xrays of both knees. Ya see….lucky me, will likely have to have the right knee done next year, AFTER he is satisfied with the progress of the left one. I glared at him. Told him as much as I like him, I am not going to be happy having to go through all this again. He said, “Nope, you’re not, but the alternative isn’t too enjoyable either.” He’s got a point there. I asked questions, he answered, I got him to laugh. Seems to be a talent I have. This is how I know he has dimples. Heh. My friend told me she wasn’t aware he had those pits in his cheeks. Told her she had to get him to smile to see ‘em. “How do you do that?” “Be your same wisenheimer self.” “Oh.” *shakes head* So, I don’t have to go back till February, and I don’t have to do the exercises everyday. Well, yes I do, actually. That’s when I do my daily Bible readings. A minimum of 3 miles on the torture bike to nowhere. Sometimes a lot more. Depends on the size of the chapters assigned. But always, at LEAST 3 miles.

Oh yeah, and one other bright spot. They are no longer going to be accepting my insurance. Evidently, I’m not the only one who has been left out in the cold by this particular company. Oh joy. Well, they didn’t pay dick for this whole experience anyway. It was ALL out of pocket. He did say not to worry, they’d work something out. I like him, so ok, we will deal when the time comes. sigh…

Ok, after the joyous news, I head back to Best Buy. Thankfully, there was someone else at the Geek counter, a guy who actually had a personality, and could at least treat me like a human being, and not a burden on his time. Unfortunately, I had failed to bring along the power cord, assuming that a company such as Best Buy would have power cords for every make and model that they sold in their store. Pfft! That’s what I get for assuming. Thinking that a company is prepared for every eventuality is just down right silly in this day and age! grrrr So, of course, I had to dish out 70 something plus a LOT of tax, to purchase a power cord. I guess the Mr can put it to good use and leave it in his computer case so he doesn’t have to unplug his all the time when he/we go someplace. So, now, between the 2 of us, we have 5 power cords for 2 laptops. One is out in his man cave, don’cha know.

So, evidently, the issues I was having with the direction keys was not something they could fix in the time I was there. We did the check in process, which, by the way, only took five minutes! NOT 15! (the dorkus dude spent more time pissing me off than it would have actually taken him to let me leave it with them) No virus was found, so he said it might be a dormant one that doesn’t show up on the scan. They’ll need to keep it for at least 3 days, leaving it running the whole time, hence the need for the power cord. sigh… So, I will call them this afternoon, or tomorrow morning, and find out what’s going on, did they fix it, are they going to replace it, and can I come get it. Not that it’s bothered me that much not to have a computer at the ready. You’d be surprised at how much I’ve actually gotten done. I made a total disaster out of the breakfast nook! Heh. Hey, wrapping presents is a serious enterprise, and messes will be made.

Leaving Best Buy, I head a block down to the Verizon store. A company store, and not a privately owned place that will give you major attitude of the snotty, “I’m better than you and you’re stupid attitude”, like the one over in Savannah. I checked in…you actually have to do that over there…and within five minutes, they called my name, and we started the process of finding out just how bad a piece of crap that Android really was. Ok, so they take it back, put it on a charger. I wait. I wait. And wait. And wait some more. After an hour and a half, I was pretty tired of waiting, so I asked the check in dude what was going on and why was it taking so long. He went and found the manager, and I explained to him I had been waiting an hour and a half. He looked perplexed, probably for my benefit, making me believe he actually gave a happy crap. So, he went to find out why it was taking so long. Apparently, they had been trying to charge the piece of garbage, and it was not being cooperative. Shoot, I could have saved us all time, and told them that! SO….a very nice young fellow took over, and said I had two options: I could either leave that one there, and they would ship me a new one, or we could find another phone to replace the paper weight my phone had become. Well, after being there that long, I was in no mood to have them ship me another piece of garbage Droid X!

Naturally, during this ridiculous wait, I had been snooping around, and one particular phone had caught my eye. An LG something or other. Has a slide out keyboard, plus a touch screen keyboard. It was smaller than the Droid and does basically everything the paper weight did BEFORE they did the “upgrade” on it. The young man, Adam, said they had had a LOT of those upgraded paper weights come into the store. Some, they could fix with a hard reboot, some they could not.

So, we started discussing my options, and there was no way I wanted another expensive paper weight, so we started discussing the LG. After another hour of him messing with the computer, pulling up my account, making sure I was ‘eligible’ for all the wonderful discounts they were offering at this time, with the rebate, the waiving of the activation fee, and having the phone turn out free, plus the monthly bill would be lower, among a number of other things, I FINALLY walked out with new phone in hand.

Now, I am not exactly pleased that this one sucks batteries like the other one, but I’m consider buying a couple of spare batteries to have on hand. Someone mention an external battery charger? I’ll have to check into that. Of course, the problem might be I have been playing with the silly thing, trying to figure stuff out, and texting and getting on FB a lot, since I don’t have a computer, and THAT might be why it’s using up battery?

I finally made it home close to 8pm. I wanna tell ya, I really hate driving in the dark these days. I mean…seriously…it’s VERY dark in the Podunks of TN. BUT, one plus, there were a lot of really cool Christmas lights on a LOT of houses on my drive back. Quite enjoyable, which of course made me wonder….how much is THEIR electric bill gonna be? Heh.

Yep, I’ve gotten a lot done around here, but as usual, have forgotten that last load of laundry…one in the dryer, and one in the washing machine. sigh… Reckon I’ll have to start those all over. Well, at least rewash the jeans that got left in the washer. But hey….what the heck. I got ALL the Christmas stuff wrapped and ready to tote to Texas next week. Ain’cha proud of me? And hopefully, tomorrow, I will be back to normal, whatever that means. Being domesticated is hard work!!

But, as I said, I just don’t have anything to say.  The world is still going to hell in a hand basket, and nothing I say today would change that.  I’d rather have my nose buried in a good book….a great escape.  So, that’s what I’ve been doing, and am going back to la la land.

Well now….I do believe I’ve been threatened.  And I’m a board?  Hmmm…  Well, obviously, this person’s literacy level leaves a great deal to be desired.

Now, as to my father?  Both biological and adoptive fathers are dead.  My FATHER lives, has always lived, and will always live. No doubt, my husband will be real surprised to learn that I’m gay.  And I’m Jewish too?  I’ve no doubt that would shock my Southern Baptist pastor.  Yep….you muzzies are real fond of murderous scum like Hilter.  I mean, after all, that so called prophet y’all are so fond of was a murderous pedophile, so it’s not surprising at all.  Disgusting, but not surprising.

And FYI, I have read that book you call ‘holy’.  I see nothing holy about it.  But that’s just my opinion.  Seems rather hateful and violent, not to mention downright evil.  You do realize that evil destruction comes from Satan, right?  Or maybe you aren’t aware.  In that case, I feel downright sorry for you.  You made the choice to follow evil, and walk in darkness.  Wish I could help you see the Light.

And, I’m guessing this is the part where the depression starts kicking in.  Well, not actually depression depression, but more like frustration?  I wonder if this why there are so many depressed elderly people….the isolation.  You can’t go anywhere.  Family lives too far away, and friends have their own lives to deal with on a dailly basis.  sigh…  I should be taking care of the Mr, and here he is, having to take care of me.  We’re quite a pair, we two.  I’m incapacitated physically, and he’s being poisoned every three weeks, which is really taking it out of him.  He sleeps a lot, and I don’t sleep much at all.  Not to mention, I think I’m starting to scare him with the numerous conversations I have with the cats.  They aren’t very good conversationalists though.  Blanks stares, or the ‘are you out of your mind’ looks are about all I get out of them. 

My first post surgery doc’s appointment is tomorrow….assuming that I’ll actually SEE him.  He evidently couldn’t be bothered to at least talk to the Mr after the surgery, and let him know all went well.  Shoot, as far as I know, all they did was cut it open and sew it back up.  Ok, industrialized stapled, but you know what I mean.  I can’t imagine he’s going to tell me anything I don’t already know.  The incision is healing, it’s going to take time…yada yada yada. Yeah….  got it.  Thanks. 

As for blogging….I really have nothing to say lately. Rather odd for me, but there it is. I’ve watched the news, and get just as annoyed, but what more can be said about current events? Obama and company are still hell bent on destroying the country. The Republicans, with a few exceptions, like Rep West, continue to lose backbone. Too many voters still have reality issues. Seriously? How can I add to that? Folks with common sense aren’t buying into the BS spin they keep spewing. And the ones who actually believe that horse manure? Well, some people are just too stupid to live, yet they continue to procreate and we are saddled with even more really stupid people. Disgusted? Yeah…I’d have to say I am. I love my country. I’m completely revolted by what it has turned into.

You might as well stop leaving comments.   They will not be approved and published.  It is not a door I ever have intention of opening again.   Not one comment you have left in recent months has added to the conversation, and only proves your lack of understanding of real world issues.

You’re a nice guy, and I like you just fine.  However, when it comes to how things work in the world of economics, you’re education has been sorely lacking.  This is my little corner of the universe, and I’d rather have discussions with reasonably intelligent people rather than those who are only capable of regurgitating the union party line, the majority of which are lies and distortions (which you would know if you bothered to educate yourself on the issues).

Save your time, and mine. Use that time to read a book or ten.  I’d highly recommend your start with the U.S. Constitution, then The 5000 Year Leap.  Both would be highly beneficial. If you need more book recommendations, I’ll be more than happy to provide them.

Did you know that sitting for several hours with a dilapidated knee hanging down can be extremely painful? It feels like the muscle is being pulled off what little bone I have left!

Besides, it’s wonderfully dreary day!  The best kind of day to spend buried in some theater of the mind! And what’s with the lights flashing off and on??? Good thing my Kindle cover has a light.

Since August of last year, there have been a LOT of things going on on this side of the computer.  Just because there are some who don’t know what exactly we have been dealing with, and never took the time to find out, does not give them the right to insult me.  If some folks had pulled their head out of their asses and learn a few facts, then perhaps they wouldn’t be wasting my time, and theirs, by leaving snide remarks.  Such comments will not be moderated or posted.  They will be deleted.
