Robbing From Peter…

I have been trying to find the full text of the sneaky increases bill, but was only able to find a summary, which doesn’t really say a whole lot.  Where’s the meat?  Then, after slapping myself in the head…yes, it did hurt…it hit me!  The horse’s mouth, so to speak!  Go to the clerk’s site


No, I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but I will make the attempt…when I start feeling better…maybe.  From what I have read, we got screwed….again.  It’s nice that the R’s and D’s are trying to play together, but what they fail to understand, their playing footsie typically is bad news for the country.  I wonder if THEY read this bill?  I rather doubt it since they announced on Tuesday, and voted on Thursday.  What happened to giving the people the opportunity to peruse any bill for an almost reasonable amount of time?  Guess that flew out the window, eh?

I find it disturbing that my own Congress critter, Marsha Blackburn, who I would rarely consider a RINO, voted AYE.    This confuses me, as I’ve always seen her as an advocate FOR the people.  Yes, she’s made some controversial votes in the past, but mainly because the bad stuff was thrown in with the good stuff…like including pork in defense spending bills.  I didn’t like it, but I understood it.  This?  I really don’t understand at all.  As best I can tell, it does nothing to seriously address the problem.  And that’s not what any pundits are telling me, that’s what I’m figuring out on my own.

I also find it more than angering that the Speaker of the House had the audacity to insult a great many conservative organizations.  Those same organizations who supported him when he became Speaker.  Well, I don’t know about them, but shortly after that grand event, I found myself wondering if he was really the right guy for the job.  Now we know for sure….he was not.  He might be a nice guy, but his inability to stand up FOR the people has been increasingly disappointing to a large number of voters.  I wonder…does he know that the Tea in Tea Party stands for TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY?  Does he understand conservative principles?  Those members of his own party who are trying to bring the government back to where it belongs, in the hands of the people, are now the enemy?  It’s time to set term limits on BOTH houses of Congress!  No more career politicians!

Increasing the taxes, even if you call it a fee, is NOT what the American people want.  What WE want, is for you clowns to stop wasting our money.  We want an INCREASE in defense spending.  We want our military taken care of in the manner they have EARNED.  We don’t want to pay to be groped by a bunch of perverts at the airport, even though the fee does not go to pay for the groping.  We pay enough to be insulted and abused, thank you very much!  Robbing from Peter to pay Paul is the norm for Congress.  We’re Peter, and Paul is whoever THEY say he is.  ENOUGH!

The congressional budget deal includes some “user fees.”

For the Washington establishment, that’s apparently the politically correct way of telling Americans they’ll be paying more to the federal government. For the rest of us, it’s a tax increase.

The Ryan-Murray budget deal, which passed the House on a 332-94 vote, includes a number of “fee” increases. One would make flying more expensive. Travelers are currently charged $2.50 per flight under the Transportation Security Administration’s airline security “fee.” Under the budget deal, that would increase to $5.60 per flight or $11.20 for a round-trip ticket.

I’d Really Like An Explanation

The ALL have my address!

On 16 June 2013, I posted the Heritage’s rankings of Tennessee’s so called representative, that you can see here.  I was disappointed that my Rep had dropped in the rankings, so you can imagine my distress when I learned that not only Marsha had dropped, but my two Senators dropped….significantly!

blackburn  Votes.  A drop of 3% in Heritage’s ‘conservative rankings.

alexander  Votes. A drop of 6%.

corker  Votes. And last, we have Corker, with quite a significant change of 13%.

Now, I’m not saying that Heritage is the final voice in conservatism, but they ARE a voice that addresses a great many issues that concern the majority of conservatives today.  When I see my so called representatives voting against issues that are important to me and mine, I just have to wonder….who, exactly, are they representing?

See how your reps stack up here.  Funny how Sen Ted Cruz of Texas, and Sen Mike Lee of Utah have a 100% ranking, isn’t it.  The guys the libs love to hate!  :D  They really should get a new hobby….like basket weaving or some such, don’cha know.

He IS An American!

Canada-born Ted Cruz became a citizen of that country as well as U.S.

Born in Canada to an American mother, Ted Cruz became an instant U.S. citizen. But under Canadian law, he also became a citizen of that country the moment he was born.

Unless the Texas Republican senator formally renounces that citizenship, he will remain a citizen of both countries, legal experts say.

Well, I’m rather curious as to why he hasn’t renounced his Canadian citizenship already.

“He’s a Canadian,” said Toronto lawyer Stephen Green, past chairman of the Canadian Bar Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Section.

The circumstances of Cruz’s birth have fueled a simmering debate over his eligibility to run for president. Knowingly or not, dual citizenship is an apparent if inconvenient truth for the tea party firebrand, who shows every sign he’s angling for the White House.

“Senator Cruz became a U.S. citizen at birth, and he never had to go through a naturalization process after birth to become a U.S. citizen,” said spokeswoman Catherine Frazier. “To our knowledge, he never had Canadian citizenship, so there is nothing to renounce.”

Now looky here….John McCain wasn’t born on U.S. soil either, which the left was so fast to point out back when, so what’s the problem? BOTH are U.S. citizens. Period. We aren’t so sure about Obama, cuz who the hell knows WHAT he is, but he’s still sitting in the White House, spending all our money, isn’ he!

Unlike the U.S., which requires its citizens to pay taxes no matter where they live in the world, Canada only taxes people who reside there.

So there’s rarely much reason to relinquish Canadian citizenship.

For Cruz, though, it may become a political imperative. Though it would not affect his eligibility for the presidency, he could face questions about whether it’s appropriate for a commander in chief to have dual citizenship.

Spend the $100, get the problem resolved. Ted Cruz, at this point in time, is one of the few people I could get excited about in 2016!

On a side note, I’d really like to know why the blazes the U.S. feels it’s entitled to YOUR money even when you live outside the U.S. What’s up with that? Bloody money grubbing parasites!

2A Forum – God, Guns and Government

Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of joining like minded Constitutional (and one leftard) Tennesseans at a forum on the 2nd Amendment. It was a packed house! :D

While looking for a parking place, I noticed a very large painting of Ronald Reagan on the side of a building. Trying not to run into anyone, after guessing it was the local Republican party’s headquarters, and of course, I was right. I didn’t get a picture of it (it was freakin’ COLD), but did find one in the Cookeville paper with the ad for the forum:

Apparently, Putnam County is one of the lucky ones to have a permanent building for the HQ.

After arriving, I got to chat with a few folks. I was pickled tink to see Paula and Publius again after so long! ALWAYS a good time! And I finally did get to meet their spouses as well. LOL We often wonder if the other halfs actually DO exist. Now, I know. Now, if I can get the Mr to go to the shindig where P/H is speaking tomorrow evening….. Heh.

I wish I had used what few brain cells I have left, and brought my video camera so I could record Publius’ speech. Unless you actually hear her speak, there are no words to describe her brilliance. All of the speakers were good, and mostly informative, but when a person gets an immediate standing ovation before she even finished the last syllable, you KNOW…this is one person who has it RIGHT!

Rep Carr spoke of a bill nullifying the potential federal gun grab, which yes, we ARE allowed to do! States have the ability to nullify any federal law that is unconstitutional. And let’s face it, Obama’s plans ARE unconstitutional.

John Harris (TFA) spoke about the bills that 2nd Amendment advocates have aided in pushing through the state legislation. Isn’t it amazing that many small donations from regular folks can unseat an incumbent with hundreds of thousands of dollars from big corporations? :D He also spoke of the history of how TN’s gun laws came into being, siting the racism of the DEMOCRATS after the Civil War. Fact, many gun laws came into being due to the fact that Democrats did not want freed slaves to possess a means to protect themselves from the terrorist arm of the party, the KKK.

Sheriff Clark shared where the Association stands on the issue of gun grabbing. The sheriffs of Tennessee will NOT violate their oath of office, which includes the phrase “to protect and defend” both the U.S. Constitution, and the Tennessee Constitution. I spoke to him briefly after the forum, to ask him if most county sheriffs are on board with upholding their oaths of office, including Hardin County, and he told me that to the best of his knowledge, ALL county sheriffs will not violate that oath.

Afterward, another evil smoker, Tom, Paula & Tom (and the back of Paula’s head) and I were standing outside, freezing our hinders off, and talking about the forum. It seems he brought the idea of a class, taught by Publius, for potential conservative candidates, and maybe those who are already holding office, on the Constitution. It’s quite obvious that many who are elected and hold office are absolutely clueless about that document, and what they do know, is so mangles, they tend to confuse what they THINK with what is reality. I think it’s an excellent idea!

Once we were able to drag P/H away from her HUGE fan club, we all went out to eat. There were two other ladies with us, but for the life of me, I can’t remember their names. For that, do apologize! Blame the meds! I always do! Heh. A most excellent time was had by all 8 of us…after we left Chili’s and went to Logan’s! Obviously, the conversation was quite lively, and politically centered. Good people. good eats, and good times! It’s a shame they all live way over here where it’s too flippin’ cold for these old bones! :P

This Makes Me Unhappy!

DeMint leaving Senate to head Heritage Foundation

South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint is leaving Congress to head the conservative Heritage Foundation.

The Tea Party-backed senator announced the move Thursday, saying he will step down from the Senate in January to become president of The Heritage Foundation think tank.

“I’m leaving the Senate now, but I’m not leaving the fight. I’ve decided to join The Heritage Foundation at a time when the conservative movement needs strong leadership in the battle of ideas,” he said in a statement. “No organization is better equipped to lead this fight and I believe my experience in public office as well as in the private sector as a business owner will help Heritage become even more effective in the years to come.”

DeMint has been an outspoken voice in the Senate for its most conservative wing, most recently chiding House Republican leaders for offering to put revenue on the table as part of negotiations over the looming fiscal crisis.

One of the few voices we’ve had in the Senate is leaving?  No, this doesn’t make me happy at all!

Time To Rise Up

Every morning, I wake up, thank God for another day on His creation, and pray the last four years have just been a bad dream, realize the nightmare isn’t over, wondering if it ever will be, and drag myself out of bed. Having to face the horror that has become the U.S.A. is, sometimes, just more than I care to deal with on a regular basis.

What can we do? What can I do? Do we just blindly accept that the spawn of Satan has taken over control of our lives, or do we fight back? If we fight back, how? We had an election stolen, and no one will do a damn thing. The fraud was so massive that the integrity of all future elections will be in question, yet…..crickets.

Then, we have the so called Republicans that we put our trust in, in the House. Apparently, that trust was misplaced. Here is a snippet of from a piece by Erick Erickson:

Not quite two weeks removed from Thanksgiving, it is worth giving thanks to John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy. I really am thankful for them.

Yesterday the three of them purged fiscal conservatives from committees as punishment for being authentically fiscal conservatives. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina was put on the Financial Services Committee to show fiscal conservatism had nothing to do with removing Congressmen Justin Amash and David Schweikert, but that just causes me to question Mick Mulvaney’s conservative bona fides now.

Congressmen Schweikert, Amash, and Congressman Tim Huelskamp now removed from the Budget Committee, have been punished for daring to defy John Boehner during the debt ceiling fight, etc. They pointed out what would happen with John Boehner’s deal. They were the Cassandras of the fiscal cliff, predicting we’d be exactly where we are and they voted against getting us here.

They have now been punished.

When Boehner was first chosen to be Speaker, I thought “maybe we finally have a pit bull on our side”, but learned quite quickly, what we got was a chihuahua.  Oh, I’m sure he’s a nice guy, and all that, but we don’t need nice guys in leadership positions when we are fighting for our very survival.

Pointing their fingers as fiscal conservatives now punished, casting them out as scape goats, will do nothing to woo the media or the White House, but we should be thankful. We should absolutely be thankful for these three men.

As the sun rises this morning we can look at John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy and know the opposition is not just across the aisle, but in charge of our own side in the House of Representatives. All the time and energy I would otherwise have to spend to convince conservatives that these gentlemen would be a problem for the GOP has been spared. They’ve proven it themselves.

Now, we no longer have to fight against the evil of Obama and his minions, we have to do battle with evil of the Republican Party as well?  I’m not sure I have the energy anymore.  I pretty much left the Party quite a while ago, but since there has been no viable alternative, had no choice but to support anyone, and anything that would rid us of Marxist that currently resides in the house that George built.  To continue to support a party that no longer reflects the values of an extremely large number of people, would be ludicrous.

We have two choices in this matter.  We rid the party of the wishy washy, feckless fence sitters, the go along to get along, or we create an alternative.  There is a third alternative…. we fight to regain control of  our country, literally, to rid ourselves of the treasonous bast*ards, remove the threat of tyranny, once and for all.  I’m old, in poor health, and will likely be killed off by ObamaCare at some point in the future.  It will be up to the younger folks to decide what our country will be, what course to take…liberty or tyranny.  I had hoped that the recent election would have resolved the issue, but sadly, the ignorance is apparent, and there were too many who are willing to give up their freedom, to be chained in slavery to the federal government.  I, for one, do not want to live in a country that would choose tyranny over liberty and slavery over freedom.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God!
I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Bill Whittle For Prez?

I seriously doubt he’d want the job. LOL But this is what we need! No more worrying about offending the fence sitters. No more kowtowing to the left so they’ll “like us”. Screw them! Tell the truth! If they don’t like the truth, then that’s THEIR problem! Let the media have it with both barrels!!
