Islamophobia

OIC urges measures against Islamophobia

“Mere condemnation or distancing from the acts of the perpetrators of Islamophobia will not resolve the issue, as long as they remain free to carry on with their campaign of incitement and provocation on the plea of freedom of expression,” OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said, in a speech at a conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Ihsanoglu appreciated those Western governments which slammed a blasphemous and anti-Islamic film produced by a Danish lawmaker, Geert Wilders, which sparked strong protests by Muslims.

The movie, Fitna, portrays the Holy Qur’an as a book which inspires terrorism.

The OIC head also urged the media to reject “proponents of hatred totally,” citing other incidents such as the republishing in Denmark of cartoons considered an insult to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), AP said.

Pssst!

When you yahoos stop condoning the violence, or at least speak out against it once in a while, I might take you seriously. Until then……

The Wisdom In Talking

As President Bush commemorated Israel’s 60th anniversary by attacking Barack Obama from overseas, here at home he found an all-too-frequent ally: John McCain.

Uh….no, actually he said a Senator during WWII had said “if he had only talked to Hilter”…. Get the facts straight you egotistical putz!

When Bush accused “some” — including Obama, Bush aides explained — of “the false comfort of appeasement,” McCain echoed this slander.

Slander? What slander? Is he saying Hussein never said he’d chat with Ahmabooboo with NO preconditions? Sorry Scary, but that’s exactly what he said. Again….facts!

Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person’s reputation or standing in the community.

John, ya might want to use a dictionary the next time you put pen to paper!

“What does he want to talk about with [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad?” McCain asked, fumbling to link Obama to the Iranian president’s hateful words. Soon, a GOP talking point was born.

Wow! I didn’t know the non leadership of the GOP read my blog, and many others, who have been saying the same dadburn thing. And I tell ya, I’m no big McFeingold fan, but this is one thing he didn’t fumbled on.

Lost in the rhetoric was the question America deserves to have answered: Why should we engage with Iran?

In short, not talking to Iran has failed. Miserably.

Oh, I dunno about that. Works pretty well for me. Of course, if the UN wasn’t full of a bunch of APPEASERS, perhaps Iran wouldn’t be at the point they are now? Just a thought.

Bush engages in self-deception arguing that not engaging Iran has worked. In fact, Iran has grown stronger: continuing to master the nuclear fuel cycle; arming militias in Iraq and Lebanon; bolstering extremist anti-Israeli proxies. It has embraced Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and spends lavishly to rebuild Afghanistan, gaining influence across the region.

Which tells me a couple of things: One, we should go ahead and bomb both of those useless countries back to the 12th century, where they want to be anyway; and two, al Maliki is sucking up to ‘Booboo, and stabbing US in the back.

Instead of backing Bush’s toxic rhetoric, McCain should have called George H.W. Bush’s secretary of state, James Baker. After years of stonewalling, the administration grudgingly tested the Baker-Hamilton report’s recommendation and opened talks with Iran — albeit low-level dialogue restricted to the subject of Iraq. Is James Baker an appeaser, too?

Toxic? No, Bush is a lot of things, but ‘toxic’ isn’t one of them. Well, unless you are leftist Dhimmi. The Iranians have flat out stated they want to destroy Israel, and us. So, Scary parroting Hussein’s “let’s have tea” nonsense tells me we made a wiser choice in ‘04. Oh, and what have those low-level chats accomplished so far? Iran still wants to destroy Israel, and us, and all Western civilization. Yep, that’s working real well.

While the president attacks political opponents from the Knesset, responsible members of his own administration meet face to face with Iranians. Yes, Ahmadinejad’s words often are abhorrent, and often Iran has played a poisonous role in Middle East politics. But when our ambassador to Iraq meets with his Iranian counterpart, he isn’t courting “the false comfort of appeasement” — he is facing the reality that Iran exerts influence in Iraq. That’s why Defense Secretary Bob Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have called for engaging Iran. Appeasers all? Nonsense.

“Often abhorrent”? How about downright dangerous! Perhaps those chats with the Iranians are emphasizing the idea they had better knock it off! You know, stop supplying the terrorists with weapons, stop trying to become a nuclear power with the intent of starting a MAJOR confrontation. Maybe they are setting those same ‘pre-conditions’ that Hussein doesn’t think he needs to have a conversation?

Opponents of dialogue often quip that talking isn’t a strategy. Walking away isn’t a strategy, either. McCain says that “there’s only one thing worse than the United States exercising the military option, that is, a nuclear-armed Iran.” But for all his professed reluctance, when McCain disavows diplomacy, he is stacking the deck in favor of war.

No, actually, I don’t think he is “stacking the deck”. Iran has been doing that since 1979, when Jimmah, the biggest appeaser of all, was in the White House. You notice that they were released when Reagan was sworn in, because they KNEW they’d get their collective asses kicked if they didn’t. Reagan wasn’t an appeaser.

Dialogue helps us isolate Ahmadinejad rather than empowering him to isolate us. More important, even if we fail to reach an agreement, engaging Iran will spark three conversations likely to strengthen our position.

Where does he come up with this stuff? Dialogue with ‘Booboo will give him legitimacy, to the point where he can say “See? Even the Americans fear us and want to talk!” That, in my opinion, is more than just a little dangerous.

The first is between our leaders and Iran’s. From nonproliferation to counterterrorism, frankly, Iran won’t care for much of what we have to say — but at the right moment, it is not unreasonable to think Tehran would cut a deal in exchange for economic incentives, energy assistance, diplomatic normalization or a noninvasion guarantee.

Why is it that the left assumes that these are reasonable people, who are guided by logic? Nothing could be farther from the truth. They are ruled by a book that provokes hatred and violence, and the destruction of anything, and anyone, who does not subscribe to that same book. Get a grip!

Some have asserted that meeting with Iran’s leaders would legitimize Ahmadinejad, who is neither Iran’s supreme leader nor someone whom Obama specifically promised to meet. Curiously, many critics then hype Ahmadinejad as a threat of historic proportions, thereby granting the stature they seek to deny. Iranian elections in mid-2009 could yield a less objectionable president; engaging Iran makes that more likely.

Well, actually, he’s a small man, likely with a tiny weenie, but a HUGE ego. Napoleon comes to mind, and look what he did. Then, there was Hitler, and we KNOW what he did to the world. So, is MR Scary suggesting we should play Neville Chamberlain?

As Iran’s centrifuges churn out enriched uranium, we’re asking the wrong question. Instead of wondering why Barack Obama wants to talk with Iran, we should ask: “What are George Bush and John McCain waiting for?”

Good question! Why haven’t we taken out Iran’s nuclear facilities?

The Fall of Lebanon

22 May 2008, 9:04 am. No Comments. Filed under Middle East, Opinion, Religion of Pieces.

The Day Lebanon Died

Beirut’s death struggle ends amid a sea of Western indifference and U.N. incompetence. A deal struck Wednesday in Qatar gives Hezbollah the control it seeks. Welcome to Hezbollahstan.

Why would the Useless Numnuts lift a finger to help Lebanon? They WANT democracies to fall to the terrorists.

It is a victory for the Iranian-created, -financed and -armed terrorist organization that before 9/11 was responsible for killing more Americans — including 241 troops in their Beirut barracks in 1983 — than any other group. It is the stalking horse of Iran’s quite-mad president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Why haven’t we been backing up Lebanon? Why have we allowed Iran to run roughshod over every reasonably peaceful Middle East country? WHY DIDN’T WE DESTROY HEZBOLLAH?

The deal also green-lights the election of the army chief, Gen. Michel Suleiman, as head of state. He emerged as a compromise choice when those who insisted on a clearly anti-Syrian candidate relaxed their opposition. He’s on good terms with Hezbollah and was believed to have the tacit consent of Syria for the presidency. He was appointed to his post in 1998, when Syria ran the show during its decades-long occupation.

My grandparents must be spinning in their graves! The had to leave Lebanon because of the Muslim terrorism at the end of the 19th century. This is not a new thing. We just have more information at our fingertips. Why are we failing to recognize the threats BEFORE the damage is done?

Hezbollah has kept its weapons in violation of U.N. Resolutions 1559 and 1701. Its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said the private network was “the most important part of the weapons of the resistance,” adding that Hezbollah had a duty to defend those weapons. Under this deal, the terrorist outfit gets to keep them.

The only people who still take the UN seriously are the leftist “one world” types. To everyone else, they are a joke. A dangerous joke to freedom, but a joke, none the less.

The U.S. must take some blame. In 2003, Congress passed the Syria Accountability Act, but Syria hasn’t been held accountable for anything, not even for having a secret nuclear weapons program.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Give me a break. Words without actions are just that….words, that do nothing more than create CO2 emissions.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently made a pilgrimage to Damascus to kiss the ring of Syrian thug Bashar Assad. Expect a President Obama to follow, a stop on the road to Tehran. Any Lebanese government decision must now be approved by Hezbollah, presumably after it’s been run past Tehran and Damascus.

Thanks Queen Nanny, for giving the pigs what they want…….a U.S. giving the appearance of bowing to their whims. ‘Preciate that. And putting Hussein in the Oval Office would all but insure a defeat of a once great nation.

In Lebanon, political power has grown out of the barrel of Hezbollah’s guns. Those who would negotiate with Iran keep feeding the Islamofascist tiger, hoping it will eat us last.

Make no mistake, if Hussein is elected, and takes us over that cliff, be prepared to either lose your head, or submit.

Who Is Selfish?

A Gulf in Giving: Oil-Rich States Starve the World Food Program

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and his top lieutenants on Monday are convening the first meeting of the U.N.’s Task Force on the Global Food Crisis. Ban says it will “study the root causes of the crisis,” and propose solutions for “coordinated global action” at a summit of world leaders in June.

Root causes? Well, that pesky fuel based on food sources might be a BIG cause. Not the only one, but a big one.

WFP internal documents show that the major oil producing nations of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) gives almost nothing to the food organization, even as skyrocketing oil prices and swollen oil revenues contribute to the very crisis that the U.N. claims could soon add 100 million more people to the world’s starving masses.

Well, considering the biggest oil producing nations are either Muslim or dictatorships, it’s not surprising they don’t give squat.

The overwhelming bulk of the burden in feeding the world’s starving poor remains with the United States and a small group of other predominately Western nations, a situation that the WFP has done little so far to change, even as it has asked for another $775 million in donations to ease the crisis.

Yep, the EVIL great “Satan” is the one they depend on for survival, yet hate. Well, ya know what? I’m of the mind that we need to pull all support from the UN. Do I want children to starve? Of course not. I don’t want mine too either, and at this point in time, I think the US needs to be reminded “charity begins at home”.

Donor listings on WFP’s website show that this year, as in every year since 1999, the U.S. is far and away the biggest aid provider to WFP. Since 2001, U.S. donations to the food agency have averaged more than $1.16 billion annually — or more than five times as much as the next biggest donor, the European Commission.

If I ever hear the lefties whining again about how we, as a nation, don’t do enough, I’m going to slap the dog fire out of them!

This year, the U.S. had contributed $362.7 million to WFP just through May 4, according to the website. That figure does not include another $250 million above the planned yearly contribution that was promised by President George W. Bush in the wake of WFP’s April warning that a “silent tsunami” of rising food costs would add dramatically to the world population living in hunger. Nor does it include another $770 million in food aid that President Bush has asked Congress to provide as soon as possible.

No, NO, and HELL NO! Not another dime!

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia, with oil revenues last year of $164 billion, does not even appear on the website donor list for 2008.

Ok, putting anger aside, do the Saudis give directly to those in need? Isn’t there a ‘tenet of Islam’ that says something about giving? Well, I don’t take their “tenets” too seriously, since they’ve been proven false day after day.

And while Canada, Australia, Western Europe and Japan have hastened to pony up an additional $260 million in aid since WFP’s latest appeal, the world organization told FOX News, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the international oil cartel, tossed in a grand total of $1.5 million in addition to the $50,000 it had previously donated.

The OPEC total amounts to roughly one minute and 10 seconds worth of the organization’s estimated $674 billion in annual oil revenues in 2007 — revenues that will be vastly exceeded in 2008 with the continuing spiral in world oil prices.

Well, I’d say that breaks it down pretty well. In other words, about the time it takes to blow your nose real good!

Interesting

Al Qaeda’s No. 2: 5 Years of U.S. Occupation of Iraq Brought ‘Failure’

Al Qaeda’s No. 2 leader claimed in an audiotape released Friday that five years of U.S. involvement in Iraq brought only defeat, and said President Bush will be forced to pass the problem to his successor.

Ayman al-Zawahiri alleged that by heeding advice of his top commanders in Iraq and guaranteeing a heavy American military presence after July, Bush was “covering up for the failure” of his Iraq policies.

“If the American forces leave, they will lose everything. And if they stay, they will bleed to death,” he argued.

Isn’t it odd that the enemy is quoting members of our very own Congress.

He called for Muslim support of jihad in Iraq, and for backing Al Qaeda’s affiliate there, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq.

Oh sure, why not support the very same pigs who are murdering them, their wives, their children.

He also reiterated a recent statement allegedly by Osama bin Laden, that from Iraq the mujahideen will launch a fight to “liberate” Jerusalem.

“Liberate” Jerusalem? From what? Seems to me, the Arabs in Jerusalem have a lot more freedom than they would if such as the likes of him were in charge.

Al-Zawahiri also slammed anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who has ordered his militia to halt attacks on American and Iraqi forces. He “has become the laughing stock of the world” and is a “toy” in Iran’s hands, he said.

Maybe al-Sadr was tired of getting slammed by American AND Iraqi forces? Just a thought.

When all is said and done, the Pelosis and Reeds have built up this trash.  The scum sucking Carter would prefer to see American dead, that offend the murderous Hamas.  And we, those of us who still believe in this country, are basically, sitting on the sidelines, letting our nation be run into the ground, by individuals who only have their own self interest at heart.

Oh Really!

Saudis Building Their Own Border Fence

Saudi Arabia is starting to look a lot like south Texas, and it’s not just the oil derricks.

The Saudis are pumping $5 billion into a border fence to keep out illegal immigrants and potential terrorists, with a significant portion going to seal off the Iraqi border.

Plans call for a 550-mile fence between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, bolstered by an electronic fence along the Red Sea to separate the Saudi sheiks from neighboring Jordan and Yemen.

As the controversy over U.S. efforts to fence off its border with Mexico continues to percolate, the Saudi fence is getting little media attention.

So, just why haven’t we been hearing about this? The Saudis want to protect their borders. Shouldn’t the pro-illegals be over there protesting?

Termed the “MIKSA” project, the overall plan also calls for an extensive telecommunications network, 225 radar installations and 400 border posts housing 20,000 troops, according to Middle East News.

Security experts say the fence has taken on new urgency in Saudi Arabia amid fears that U.S. peacekeeping efforts in Iraq will fail, resulting in regional chaos and an expansion of terrorism.

Saudi officials deny such concerns.

“This is not an anti-terrorism project,” a top Saudi security official tells Newsmax. “This is an anti-illegal immigration project.”

Seems reasonable to me. But then, I’m just a ‘racist’, don’cha know.

The cost of the Saudi Arabia – Iraq segment, the official noted, is estimated at around $1.5 billion.

“This project was supposed to have happened 10 years ago, but we didn’t have the budget,” the Saudi official says.

Yeah, right. The Saudis are just so poor. (snicker)

The Saudi border fence should prove much more formidable than its U.S. counterpart.

Pfft! What we’ve got wouldn’t keep a peacock out, much less a group of criminals.

Anyone wanting to slip illegally into Saudi Arabia would be forced to: climb a series of high sand berms; scale a high fence girded with razor wire on top and bottom; creep along a 50-yard stretch of no-man’s land; clamber over a barbed-wire pyramid; cross another open 50 yards; and shinny over a second barbed-wired fence all while avoiding detection by ultraviolet sensors, night vision cameras, buried movement sensors and patrol dogs.

You mean to tell me we, the ‘richest’ country in the world, can’t afford a few billion to protect the citizens from the illegal invasion from the south?

Bush’s Buds

Saudi lawyer in rape victim plea

A Saudi Arabian human rights attorney is asking the government to allow him to represent a woman who was gang-raped — and then sentenced to prison for speaking out about the case.

The attorney, Abdulrahman al-Lahim, had his license revoked last week by a judge for speaking to the Saudi-controlled media about the case, al-Lahim told CNN.

The judge more than doubled the sentence against al-Lahim’s 19-year-old client because she spoke to the media about the case, a court source told Arab News, an English-language Middle Eastern daily newspaper.

The woman — who was initially sentenced in October 2006 to 90 lashes — had her sentenced increased to 200 lashes and was ordered to serve six months in prison under Saudi Arabia’s strict Islamic law.

“We were shocked,” al-Lahim said of the increased sentence.

As should be ANYONE with an ounce of common sense and compassion. And these are allies? I don’t think so.

CNN has been unable to reach Saudi government officials for comment on this report, despite repeated requests

Big surprise.

“Barring the lawyer from representing the victim in court is almost equivalent to the rape crime itself,” said Fawzeyah al-Oyouni, founding member of the newly formed Saudi Association for the Defense of Women’s Rights.

“This is not just about the girl, it’s about every woman in Saudi Arabia,” she said. “We’re fearing for our lives and the lives of our sisters and our daughters and every Saudi woman out there. We’re afraid of going out in the streets.”

To Muslims, women aren’t worth much. Well, I’d like to see them try to reproduce without ‘em.

The woman, who is married, and an unrelated man were abducted and she was raped by a group of seven men more than a year ago, the lawyer said. The male victim was also given an increased sentence of 200 lashes and six months in prison, al-Lahim said.

The man and woman were attacked after they met so she could retrieve an old photograph of herself from him, according to al-Lahim. Citing phone records from the police investigation, al-Lahim said the man was trying to blackmail his client. He noted the photo she was trying to retrieve was harmless and did not show his client in any compromising position.

Sounds like a set up to me, but then, not being familiar with such a barbaric culture…….

Al-Lahim has been ordered to attend a disciplinary hearing at the Ministry of Justice next month, where he faces a possible three-year suspension and disbarment, according to Human Rights Watch.

He told CNN he has appealed to the Ministry of Justice to reinstate his law license and plans to meet with Justice Minister Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

So, a lawyer, doing what lawyers are suppose to do, is barred from doing what lawyers…..are suppose to do? I’m getting dizzy.

Under Saudi law, women are subject to numerous restrictions, including a strict dress code, a prohibition against driving and a requirement that they get a man’s permission to travel or have surgery. Women are also not allowed to testify in court unless it is about a private matter that was not observed by a man, and they are not allowed to vote.

These are the types the Dhimmis have been kowtowing to in D.C. Excuse me, but does anyone see a problem with that?

The Saudi government recently has taken some steps toward bettering the situation of women in the kingdom, including the establishment earlier this year of special courts to handle domestic abuse cases, adoption of a new labor law that addresses working women’s rights and creation of a human rights commission.

Nice of ‘em.
