Letters To TN’s Senators, Corker & Alexander

2 October 2008, 3:04 pm. No Comments. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Senate.

My letter to Senator Bob Corker:

To say that I am more than disappointed in your vote for this bailout fiasco called a bill is an extreme understatement.  Tinkering with the economy is what prolonged the Great Depression, and you sir, have just helped repeat history.

I am a conservative, fiscal and social, and I can assure you, that I will not be supporting you in your bid for re-election when that time comes.

Since MR Alexander has never once bothered to respond to my inquiries, you might want pass along this message to him:  I will NOT be voting for him in November.

Neither one of you took into consideration what the people of this state, or this country want, or need.  We are not so ignorant that we don’t understand the process.  What we see are a bunch of spoiled children playing at legislating.  Not one person, outside of Washington D.C. has spoken in favor of this bill…NOT ONE, and that includes 150 economists.

My disappointment in you, Lamar Alexander, and President Bush cannot be put into words!

I’m hoping by the time you are up for re-election, a TRUE conservative will step forward!

I also sent one to Senator Lamar Alexander (RINO), in the same vein, and the admonition that I will NOT be voting for him come November 4.

I would urge everyone in Tennessee to let these so called representatives of the state know their vote was against WE, the People.  They may call themselves Republican, but this Party is no longer what it was meant to be.  They might as well call themselves Dhimmi Lite!

I never put up a link to Alexander’s website, supporting his re-election.  I just never trusted him, and obviously, for good reason.  I did have higher hopes for Corker though.

When it comes right down to it, this isn’t a left or right issue.  This is an American issue.  To rearrange a line from Bill Cosby….we brought you in, we can take you out, and find another one just like you.

YOU, work for US!  NOT the other way around!

Senate Passes Revised $700B Financial Bailout Legislation

After one spectacular failure, the $700 billion financial industry bailout found a second life Wednesday, winning lopsided passage in the Senate and gaining ground in the House, where Republicans opposition softened.

Senators loaded the economic rescue bill with tax breaks and other sweeteners before passing it by a wide margin, 74-25, a month before the presidential and congressional elections.

Open Letter to Senator Bob Corker

8 September 2008, 6:05 pm. No Comments. Filed under Life, Opinion, Senate.

Senator Corker:

I received your email today, in response to mine, and I thank you for at least doing me the courtesy of responding, unlike your colleague in the Senate, Lamar Alexander.  Sen Alexander has NEVER responded to ANY correspondence I’ve sent him, whether by email, or snail mail.  This, in my opinion, gives YOU seniority. But that is neither here nor there, and totally irrelevant to the subject at hand.  Although you might want to inform your fellow Senator that since he couldn’t be bothered to address my concerns, I couldn’t be bothered to donate to his re-election.

Now, to the matter at hand.

In your email, you stated:

Like you, I am pro-life. As you may know, since 1976 there has been a prohibition - which I support - against federal funding for abortion. This has provided protection for tax payers like you and me who do not support abortions, and do not want to support them financially. I strongly believe in protecting the sanctity of human life, and that is why, on October 18, 2007 I voted in favor of an amendment to the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Act of 2008 that prohibits any grant funding of organizations that perform abortions. Furthermore, I voted against an amendment sponsored by Senator Boxer and Senator Snowe to the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill that allows funding to international organizations that perform abortions.

While I don’t doubt you are pro-life, would you please explain to me just why my tax dollars are actually funding the murder of innocent babies through Planned Parenthood, a racist abortion mill if ever there was one?  Do you, in your position as an elected official, believe that it is the taxpayer who should be footing the bill for WIC (Women, Children and Infants) that is evidently linking to Planned Parenthood.  Since an overwhelming number of those on WIC are black or Hispanic, don’t you find it a bit hypocritical for the federal government to be funding an organization founded by a horror in skirts, Margaret Sanger?

So, it would seem that, contrary to the wishes of the American taxpayers, we not only fund Planned Parenthood to the tune of more than a quarter BILLION dollars, we are also funding them through WIC?  Are our tax dollars also being spent to promote murder by women in foreign countries?

I find this highly suspicious and would appreciate some clarification from the entire U.S. Senate.  Do we, or do we not, oppose mass murder?

Thank you.

Senator Corker: Who’s Side Are You REALLY On?

11 August 2008, 12:56 pm. No Comments. Filed under Economy, Feckless Weasels, Politics, Senate.

From the brilliant mind of Blue Collar Muse:

Thus the next command from government beyond where we drill and where we sell will be how much we produce. Only produce here; only sell there - as if government owned the oil. Couple these restrictions with government requirements that Big Oil finance R&D which makes their product less marketable and you complete the picture of the ignorance the Gang wants foisted on the American public as beneficial. And Bob Corker says this is exactly what he wanted to accomplish in DC.  Corker and the Gang would be better advised to join up with their GOP House colleagues’ #Don’t Go Movement.  It provides all the benefits they say they want with none of the drawbacks.

To recap, the R&D the Gang proposes won’t be helpful for years. They tease you with tax credits for far off R&D results you’ll end up paying for later anyway via the same high prices they claim to be fighting. As beneficial as R&D is for tomorrow, today’s prosperity requires inexpensive, readily available oil. The immediate burden of surviving lean R&D years falls on Big Oil. But they must work while prevented from drilling in the best places, selling for the best prices or providing the best wages and profits for Americans; all the while dealing with government imposed reductions on the value of their market and product.

Sen. Corker Speaks Up

30 July 2008, 10:28 am. No Comments. Filed under Congress, Economy, Feckless Weasels, Opinion, Senate, Taxes.

Corker: Administration’s Updated Budget Projection Not Honest View

“This is not an honest view of our country’s budget deficit and the administration knows it. Their failure to include a realistic assessment for war spending and refusal to make accurate assumptions about the alternative minimum tax is disappointing and does not set the right tone for having a serious discussion about our country’s dire fiscal situation. As we rapidly approach $10 trillion in debt, we cannot continue to play games with how we look at our fiscal situation.

“Both the White House and Congress are guilty of such gimmicks on a yearly basis, and it is time for it to stop. The American taxpayers deserve to be shown the true scope of our financial problems. Our country’s resources have been mismanaged and the economic downturn we’re experiencing will only make the situation worse. We need to work together on a bipartisan basis to overhaul our budget process, reform entitlement programs and restrain our spending.”

Both Congress AND the White House has been playing fast and lose with OUR money! Personally, I’m fed up! I have a suggestion though. Every time we elect a candidate on the basis of their economic policies, and they do just the opposite once they get into office, we should start a recall effort based on the LIES that was spouted during his/her campaign. Corruption has had free reign in D.C. for way too long!

Never Did Like Him

Sen. Stevens indicted: 7 false statements counts

Sen. Ted Stevens, the longest-serving Republican senator and a figure in Alaska politics since before statehood, has been indicted on seven counts of falsely reporting hundreds of thousands of dollars in services he received from a company that helped renovate his home.

Stevens, 84, has been dogged by a federal investigation into whether he pushed for fishing legislation that also benefited his son, an Alaska lobbyist.

From May 1999 to August 2007, prosecutors said Stevens concealed “his continuing receipt of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of things of value from a private corporation.” The indictment released Tuesday said the items included: home improvements to his vacation home in Alaska, including a new first floor, garage, wraparound deck, plumbing, electrical wiring; as well as car exchanges, a Viking gas grill, furniture and tools.

Justice Department officials were holding a news conference later Tuesday to discuss the charges.

Messages left Tuesday at both Stevens’ Senate office in Washington and his campaign office in Anchorage were not immediately returned.

Criminy! He’s running for re-election? Yup. And his little logo thingy looks a WHOLE lot like B. Hussein’s.

There has always been something about that guy that gave me the creeps! Honestly, I don’t give a flip about his party associations. I no longer consider myself a Republican anyway. What I care about is the abuse those in D.C. keep dishing out on the American people. This guy is just one example of how we keeping allowing ourselves to get screwed over. Sen. Ted Stevens has been sticking it to the taxpayers via absurd “pork” for years.

If he’s not guilty, then drop it. If he is, then prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!

I’m Confused

21 June 2008, 6:24 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Senate.

Ok, so what else is new. Confusion is a natural state for me. :) But when I read this, I got even more confused.

Hidden deep in Senator Christopher Dodd’s 630-page Senate housing legislation is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation of nearly all of America’s small businesses. The provision, which was added by the bill’s managers without debate this week, would require the nation’s payment systems to track, aggregate, and report information on nearly every electronic transaction to the federal government.

Now, wait a minute. I was under the impression that those on the left, also known as Democrats, didn’t like the gubmint snooping. Isn’t that why they get all bent out of shape over the Patriot Act? I mean, if listening in on conversations between bad guys in a foreign country and a bad guy in this country is a no-no, why on earth is Sen. Dodd digging for information on what I buy from Amazon.com, or any other online shopping I do?

FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey commented: “This is a provision with astonishing reach, and it was slipped into the bill just this week. Not only does it affect nearly every credit card transaction in America, such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, but the bill specifically targets payment systems like eBay’s PayPal, Amazon, and Google Checkout that are used by many small online businesses. The privacy implications for America’s small businesses are breathtaking.”

I wonder if Sen. Dodd would be willing to explain his little bill? I’m pretty sure he’d just TRY to explain it away. “It’s not what you think. We need the information.”

“At a time when concerns about both identity theft and government spying are paramount, Congress wants to create a new honey pot of private data that includes Social Security numbers. This bill reduces privacy across America’s payment processing systems and treats every American small business or eBay power seller like a criminal on parole by requiring an unprecedented level of reporting to the federal government. This outrageous idea is another reason to delay the housing bailout legislation so that Senators and the public at large have time to examine its full implications.”

I find it a little more than disconcerting that the federal government knows anything about me at all. That there will be weasels, some third rate bureaucrat, who will know more details about me than my own husband, and could very easily take said knowledge to use against me, steal my identity, or any number of things?

Just what business is of Dodd, or anyone else in the gubmint, who I buy my mascara from, or what t-shirt I wear, and from whom I buy anything!?!

So, I really wish someone would enlighten me.
