America….We Have A Problem!

What is that problem?  Well, the laundry list is long, but in this case, I’m talking about two bills, HR 998 and S 555, both titled “Student Non-Discrimination Act of 2011 – To end discrimination based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity in public schools, and for other purposes“.  Of course, the usual suspects are all co-sponsors.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t think anyone should be discriminated against, for any reason.  I do, however, feel that making a certain group of people a ‘special class’ is ridiculous!   It is more and more obvious that this country has lost it’s roots, and we are now floundering in the cesspool of ‘secular religion’.  The intent of the bills on the surface, and I’m just guessing here, is to stop bullying.  Well, we already have laws that are suppose to do that, as in ya don’t punch someone in the nose because they don’t think or act like you.  :?

Congress evidently believes they can overrule God!

Leviticus 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

This is not the only passage in the Bible that sets down the law, but it is the most well known one.

A brief summary of what this bill will do (from an email from the Public Advocate of the United States):

*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so “homosexual students” don’t feel “singled out” during already explicit sex-ed classes;

*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to “experiment” with the homosexual “lifestyle;”

*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to “freedom of self-expression;”

*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a “hostile learning environment” for homosexual students.

In reality, the bills are promoting discrimination, but that’s not all that unusual for the radical left.

SEC. 5. FEDERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ENFORCEMENT; REPORT TO CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES.

(b) Enforcement- Compliance with any requirement adopted pursuant to this section may be effected–

(1) by the termination of or refusal to grant or to continue assistance under such program or activity to any recipient as to whom there has been an express finding on the record, after opportunity for hearing, of a failure to comply with such requirement, but such termination or refusal shall be limited to the particular political entity, or part thereof, or other recipient as to whom such a finding has been made, and shall be limited in its effect to the particular program, or part thereof, in which such noncompliance has been so found; or

So, let me get this straight…no pun intended…if a public school doesn’t doesn’t comply with this law, and put their (both student and faculty) eternal souls at jeopardy, the federal gubmint will cut off funding? Somehow, refusing to return OUR money to OUR schools just doesn’t seem right. Well, of course not…it’s wrong, aka LEFT.

Section 7, STATE IMMUNITY

(a) State Immunity- A State shall not be immune under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution from suit in Federal court for a violation of this Act.

So, a state can’t opt out of this obvious violation of the 1st Amendment? Am I reading that correctly?  People are suppose to be free to speak their minds, practice their faith, and NOT be penalized.  With these bills, a person can NOT practice their faith, or speak about it to others.  But yet, the religion of government is free to impose their will on the American people.  Does anyone else have a problem with this, besides me?

Please, go read BOTH bills.  They aren’t very long.  I don’t much care for bullies, of any gender, or status.  What I am seeing in these bills is the bullying of the American people by the very Congress whose salary they pay.

There is a petition to Congress, opposing these bills, not that Congress gives a flying flip what WE, The People have to say, but it doesn’t hurt to give it a shot!

“You know, if we look back through history to all those great civilizations, those great nations that rose up to even world dominance and then deteriorated, declined, and fell, we find they all had one thing in common. One of the significant forerunners of their fall was their turning away from their God. Without God, there is no virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure.
“If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Bloomberg’s Push To Arm Criminals

Bloomberg reloads in push for gun control

Among the slick, million-dollar ads for the likes of Pepsi and Honda during the Super Bowl this Sunday, viewers in New York and Boston will see a far more modest spot. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino will be sitting on a couch touting an issue most politicians avoid like the plague: gun control.

No, actually, what they want is people control.  Control people, be a dick-tater.

The two mayors, whose local teams face off in the big game, are making the pitch for Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), the organization they co-founded in 2006.

I don’t suppose both teams could lose, just to give both morons a black eye?  No, didn’t think so.  I won’t be watching the game anyway….I’ll be at church…”Lord willing and the creek don’t rise”!

Murder has been on the decline in New York and other major American cities for years, but the mayors say they still see too many dead cops and teens. On Tuesday night, Bloomberg was at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan visiting a New York police officer who had just been shot in the face in Brooklyn.

“We have someone who’s dedicated his life to protecting all of us, who has had a much too close brush with death tonight because of what appears to be an illegal gun,” Bloomberg told a news conference. He added that more Americans have been killed by illegal guns since 1968 than were killed in World War II.

I’m guessing Bloomberg doesn’t see the irony of that statement?  ILLEGAL guns.  Not law abiding LEGAL gunowners, but criminals, who can get their hands on guns about anytime they want….ILLEGALLY!  Perhaps the weasel should reconsider allowing law abiding citizens to arm themselves, and push back against the thugs?  Naw….that makes WAY too much sense.  What the clown is doing, is violating the citizens of New York’s Constitutionally protected right to “keep and bear arms”.  But that’s what libs do!

NO RINOS!

Tea Party Patriots straw poll: Santorum nomination would generate most enthusiasm

Florida tea partiers would be most enthusiastic if former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum won the Republican presidential nomination, according to a straw poll conducted Sunday night by the Tea Party Patriots organization.

The straw poll was conducted following a conference call during which Santorum, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and answered questions and made their pitch to the call’s participants. Texas Rep. Ron Paul was invited to participate, but was unable to do so.

Callers were asked to rank their enthusiasm for each of the candidates receiving the nomination on a scale of one to five, with five being the most enthusiastic.

For Santorum, 35 percent of respondents said they would be the most enthusiastic, while 26 percent were in the middle. The rest were split among the other options.

Callers were also enthusiastic about a Gingrich nomination, and he had the support of 35 percent of the callers, with 24 percent saying they would be in the “most enthusiastic” category.

Romney’s support, on the other hand, was “balanced across the board,” with each level of enthusiasm receiving a similar number of votes.

Reading this, talking to many people, and comparing what is reported through the media, you’d think we were all on different planets.  Well, in a way, I suppose we are.  You see, the media, and the RNC elites have decided it is “Romney’s turn”.  On the other hand, you have regular folks, like me, who have decided the RNC elites, and the media, are full of caca de toro, and we aren’t buying into their BS!

Many of us figured out the last go ’round, that the Republican Party is no longer the party of Reagan type conservatism, which the MAJORITY of “R” voters are.  Those at the top have decided those of us who actually do the voting, aren’t smart enough to make our own decisions, so they apparently have sent out their talking points to the media, and have them pushing hard for THEIR choice for the nominee, instead of allowing us ‘small people’ to make our own decision on who WE want to see in the White House.

In 2010, we sent a very…VERY strong message to Washington, D.C., and for a few months, they did seem to pay attention.  Alas, as with all entrenched politicians, those ‘powers that be’ made a very unwise decision to buck the voters, and carry on with business as usual.  I think it’s time we sent them an even STRONGER message.

WE, THE PEOPLE…..do NOT want Mitt Romney as the nominee for President of the United States!

As a VERY conservative American, my preference would be Rick Santorum.  BUT, I could live with Newt Gringrich.  The VP pick is also very important to us out here in the real world.  A combination of Gringrich and Santorum, Gringrich/West or Rubio, Santorum/West or Rubio would get us out here in the REAL world excited enough to actually put in some time and money?

So, you folks up there in D.C. might want to start paying attention.  You may not have a job come November 7, because we are not playing patty cake with you yahoos anymore!  We want our country back.  We are a REPUBLIC….not a democracy!  Please be so kind as to pull your collective heads out of your collective hinders!

Targeting The Wrong People!

White House sides with TSA in Rand Paul standoff

The White House is standing by the Transportation Security Administration in its standoff with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and his father, Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas)

The elder Paul called the TSA a “police state” Monday after Sen. Paul was reportedly detained by TSA after he refused to take a pat-down from TSA officials at the Nashville International Airport.

I’m not a huge fan of the senior Paul, but when he’s right…he is right! Thanks to the TSA, travel has turned into an ordeal that most rational people try to avoid!

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that he didn’t have any reaction to Paul’s comment about “police state.”

But Carney sided with the TSA saying, “I think it is absolutely essential that we take necessary actions to ensure that air travel is safe.”

Carney is a moron. We are no safer now than we were before the TSA turned into travel Nazis!

“The police state in this country is growing out of control,” the elder Paul said in a statement released by his presidential campaign.

“One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our children, our seniors, and our loved ones and neighbors with disabilities,” he continued. “The TSA does all of this while doing nothing to keep us safe. “That is why my ‘Plan to Restore America,’ in additional to cutting $1 trillion dollars in federal spending in one year, eliminates the TSA.”

I do not believe Ron Paul will be the Republican nominee.  Shoot, he’s not even really a Republican, he just runs as one because he couldn’t win any other way.  BUT…. I do hope that whoever does get the nomination, and WINS, will remove the power this administration has handed over to these gropers and thieves!  Instead of targeting those who WOULD be a danger to fellow passengers, they target a U.S. Senator, and small children.  Enough!

U.S. gives church groups a year on birth control rule

The Obama administration on Friday ruled that religiously affiliated nonprofit organizations, including hospitals and universities, will have to offer birth-control coverage to women employees but gave the organizations an extra year to comply.

In a decision expected to draw opposition from religious conservatives, the Department of Health and Human Services issued a final rule requiring affiliated groups to provide a broad range of services, from implanted contraceptive devices to the morning-after pill. Many do not at present.

The government’s decision does not apply to churches, synagogues, mosques, temples and some religiously-affiliated elementary and secondary schools, which remain exempt.

But it comes as a blow to the interests of some religious authorities.

Wait a minute….isn’t it the left that is always shouting “church and state”?  Even if there really is no such thing?

Now, if I remember correctly, the 1st Amendment gives religious organization freedom to practice their religion without government interference, unless of course, there is some seriously sick crap going on…or unless it’s Muslim, of course.  Well?  These hospitals and schools are run by religious organization, teaching and actually practicing their faith.  For the Obama administration to come in, and DEMAND they go against their faith, to me, seems like a complete violation of their freedom to practice their religion as laid out in the 1st Amendment by the Founders.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;….”

Yep….there it is…right there!  The very FIRST ‘right’ in the Bill of Rights.  Demanding a Catholic hospital or college to defy their God given RIGHT to practice their faith by passing out anything that would/could end the life of a child goes against church doctrine.  I don’t care if a lot of churches, Catholic or otherwise, have become so liberal they have forgotten what is actually IN the Bible, and thing this kind of intrusion of the federal government is just honky dory, it actually is NOT!

I pray that all true Christians, who still remember the Word of God, and do their utmost to follow His teachings will remember the continuous trampling of the U.S. Constitution come this next November.  I also pray the new POTUS will remember that ObamaCare is one of the major reasons why he was elected, and from day one, work to de-fund and repeal that piece of garbage!

An Internet Blackout Over SOPA and PIPA
The Foundry

As of midnight, Wikipedia is shut down for 24 hours, and hundreds of other popular websites have gone dark right along with it. They are standing together in protest of two controversial pieces of legislation that threaten Internet security and undermine the freedom of speech all in an effort to crack down on online “piracy” — the illegal distribution of copyrighted material.

Hollywood, the music industry, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have gone to bat on behalf of the proposed laws on the grounds that they will help protect valuable copyrighted property. And while the goal is laudable, the ends don’t justify the means. The Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect IP Act have far-reaching consequences for the Internet’s infrastructure, individual liberties, and innovation in the digital age.

Are You People DEAF????

Spending Bills Passed by GOP House Increased Debt $1T in 10 Months

Federal spending bills approved by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives have increased the national debt by more than $1 trillion dollars in just 10 months.

Republicans won a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November 2010 elections and took control of the House on Jan. 5, 2011, when the chamber convened and elected Rep. John Boehner (R.-Calif.) as speaker.

Was our message not clear enough? Should we have camped out in your offices to make sure you DID get the message??? Should we behave like the trashy Occupy Wall Street slimes, and take up residence, smelling to high heaven, sharing vermin with the rest of the residents of the area?

But the Republican-controlled House did not gain a veto power over federal spending until March 4, 2011. That was the expiration date of the continuing resolution (CR) that the lame-duck Democrat-controlled Congress approved in December 2010. After March 4, federal spending has been approved by legislation that needed to be approved in the Republican-controlled House.

On March 1, 2011, the Republican-controlled House passed its first CR to fund the government after March 4. Since then, it has approved a series of CRs to keep the government funded. The Republican House approved its latest CR on December 16. It will keep the government funded until the end of fiscal 2012 on Sept. 30.

ONE TRILLION DOLLARS!  $1,000,000,000,000!!!!

Eighty-six House Republicans went against their party leaders and voted against the Dec. 16 CR, which actually garnered more votes from House Democrats (149) than House Republicans (147).

When the Republican-controlled House approved its first CR on March 4, 2011, the national debt was 14,182,627,184,881.03, according to the U.S. Treasury. As of the close of business on Jan. 9, 2012, the national debt was 15,236,506,139,986.86.

Those 147 Republicans should start looking for a new job! I’m not the only one that is fed up with D.C. wasting OUR money! The Democrats have been having a high ol’ time spending money that doesn’t belong to them for many decades now, and evidently, the Republicans are trying to play catch up! HEY!!! IT IS NOT YOUR MONEY!!!

That means the debt increased by $1.05 trillion over the past ten months.

That equals approximately $8,964 for each of the 117,572,000 American households estimated by the Census Bureau.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a spare 9 grand laying around each month. I don’t have a spare quarter, thanks to the stupidity that runs rampant up there! The whole idea of 2010 was to STOP the madness, and bring some sanity back. Obviously, it didn’t work, and WE, The People got screwed over, once again!

At the current rate, the Republican-controlled House is agreeing to allow the U.S. Treasury to borrow approximately an additional $896 per month American household per month.

Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution says: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” Article 1, Section 7 says that every bill “shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate … before it become a Law.”

The hell with it! You are ALL FREAKIN’ FIRED!  Seems that ‘oath of office’ means NOTHING to you people!  Not a one of y’all are worth the effort that we put forth to get y’all elected, with one or two exception. And I’m starting to wonder about them as well!

What the New Obama Labor Board Means for Workers and Employers
by James Shark

The framers of the Constitution required the President to get the consent of the Senate before appointing senior government officials. They wanted to prevent the President from appointing those who would abuse the public trust. President Obama’s purported appointment of Richard Griffin to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) yesterday illustrates the importance of this constitutional restraint.

One thing this administration has NOT shown, is ANY kind of restraint.  As a matter of fact, it doesn’t appear that D’Bama even knows what’s in the Constitution, or, if he does, he doesn’t give a flip, and believes himself to be above said vital American document!

The union movement has a problem: Just one in 10 nonunion workers wants to join a union. Few workers believe that unions have much to offer, and even fewer want their company to wind up like General Motors. Consequently, private-sector union membership has fallen below 7 percent.

Fortunately in the right to work states, no one is required to join one of those increasingly communist organizations.  However, it appears that the Obama adminstration is doing it’s best to change that.

The union movement wants to reverse this decline, but it does not want to fundamentally reform itself to appeal to today’s workers. So it has turned to the government to make it difficult for workers to decline its services. Unions lobbied Congress to end the secret ballot in union elections, forcing workers to publicly tell union organizers whether or not they wanted to join. Fortunately, that bill went nowhere.

When there are more non union workers, than union members, you’d think someone would get the BIG picture.  Evidently, the nose on their faces has been blocked by their RED colored glasses.

Unions have now turned to the NLRB to boost their ranks—even though the NLRB is supposed to serve as a neutral arbitrator between unions and employers. President Obama appointed Craig Becker—former counsel for the AFL–CIO—to the board. Becker had an already-developed plan to use the board’s powers to increase union membership, and the board has been implementing this agenda.

It’s the National Labor Relations Board, NOT the Nationalized Union Board.  This organization is suppose to concern itself with ALL laborers, not just the unions, but apparently, Obama has done his darnedest to change that fact.  How is that Constitutional?

Unionized companies create fewer new jobs than nonunion companies. Union dues cost hundreds of dollars a year. Workers have the right to unionize if they want, but a government agency should not press them into it—and certainly not when former officials of those unions run that agency.

Unionized companies can’t afford to create more jobs due to the ever increasing demands of the unions, and their cradle to grave mentality.  They want to be taken care of, instead of planning for their own emergencies, and retirement.  You know, like in the REAL world.

Becker’s recess appointment expired at the end of the last session of Congress, and with it the activist majority on the NLRB. To replace Becker, President Obama nominated Richard Griffin, the general counsel for the International Union of Operating Engineers. Another union lawyer would continue the board’s agenda-driven activism.

I wonder if there is any way the Congress can dissolve this organization, considering there is no one, or too few representing ALL of the workers in this country?  The non union workers far outnumber the union workers, which means there is a HUGE portion of the population whose concerns are NOT being addressed.

The Senate’s advice and consent powers exist to check such appointments. Senate conservatives are right to demand that the President nominate board members who see their mission as protecting workers’ rights, not increasing union membership. The President cannot constitutionally ignore their advice.

And yet….he does….on a regular basis.  This administration has turned this country into a laughing stock by his blatant disregard of her Constitution, and the general laws of the land.  It is definitely time to take our country back, and restore her to her previously proud Republic.

Obama’s Tyrannical Abuse of Power
The Foundry

Standing behind a podium on a stage just outside Cleveland, President Barack Obama delivered a speech yesterday that will reverberate throughout history. No, its lasting impact will not come because of its soaring rhetoric. Instead, it will make its mark because it was at that moment on a Wednesday afternoon in Ohio that the President announced his plans to act in total and utter disregard of the U.S. Constitution with his illegal appointment of Richard Cordray to serve as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

It’s an astonishingly reckless exercise of executive authority that Heritage’s Todd Gaziano described as a “tyrannical abuse of power.” Never before in the 100-plus years of precedent on the recess appointment power has a President taken such an action while the Senate was still in session. Yet notwithstanding that fact, President Obama yesterday decided that he would be the first.

Disappointment Is Too Mild A Word!

Stopping SOPA

I love Marsha Blackburn. She is a delightful lady and a solidly conservative member of Congress.

And I am pledging right now that I will do everything in my power to defeat her in her 2012 re-election bid.

I wonder if the left feels that way about Debbie Wasserman Schultz?

Both Marsha Blackburn and Debbie Wasserman Schults, the head of the Democratic National Committee and a Congresswoman from Florida, are cosponsors of the Stop Online Piracy Act.

The Act intends to stop online piracy. The way the Act goes about doing this is, in large part, allowing Eric Holder to take control of the internet and shut down websites he does not like. It is a totalitarian response from a bipartisan coalition of Congresscritters most of whom admit they have no freaking idea how the internet even works. Don’t believe me?

Ok, I’d have to say disgust is a much better word, and even that doesn’t quite cover it!  The idea that Marsha Blackburn would collaborate on ANYTHING with that raving lunatic is beyond rational. The fact that this bill would give the worst Attorney General in our history the power to shut down anything he deemed necessary, or just doesn’t like,  is even MORE unbelievable.

Marsha, you know I think quite highly of you, or at least I did.  However, this is just beyond reason.  You have always been as close to my ideal conservative as a person can get, but this is just mind blowing!  You have led the way in many areas to try to retain our liberties, yet you would sign your name to co-sponsor a bill like this?  Have you become so entrenched in Washington politics that you have forgotten all about us?  With an alternative like the OPEN Act, I would think you would re-consider signing your name to such a violation.  Giving such a power to anyone even remotely related to the Obama administration should have set off warning bells in your head.  :?   Stopping online piracy is a good thing.  Giving Holder the power to shut down people who tend to criticize this administration, is flat out censorship.  Does the name Joseph Goebbels ring a bell? Propaganda is a real useful tool, and I think you’ve been sucked into the Dems version.

Persecution of Christians…In The United States of America

22 December 2011, 11:38 am. 2 Comments. Filed under Faith, U.S. Constitution.

Minister Told He Will Face Potential Arrest for Reading Christmas Story from the Bible at Capitol Christmas Tree

Rev. Patrick Mahoney to read the Christmas Story at the Capitol Tree on Thursday, December 22, at 12:00 P.M.

The Capitol Christmas Tree is located on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol Building.

Rev. Mahoney met with Capitol Police officials telling them of his plans to sing Christmas Carols, read the Christmas story, pray for peace, justice and religious freedom, hold a small 5 inch Nativity Display and pray for political leaders at the Capitol Christmas Tree.

Police officials told him some of his activities may be prohibited or constitute an illegal demonstration.

An illegal demonstration? Reading about the birth of Christ is now illegal? WE, The People OWN that building, and everything in it, or around it. It’s ours. WE pay for it. To threaten a minister for doing what he was called to do is beyond comprehension, yet it is happening. IN a country founded on Judeo-Christian values, and LAWS, the thought of prohibiting the minister for reading the Bible, and holding a small nativity in his hand, is extremely offensive!

Rev. Mahoney told Capitol Police officials he would still read the Christmas Story and hold the Nativity Display on Thursday even if it meant arrest or citation.

This threat of arrest for reading from the Bible comes in the wake of national news stories reporting that the Capitol Christmas Tree has no ornaments depicting the Christmas Story, The Nativity or Jesus.

God bless this man for standing up for what is RIGHT! If he is arrested, I would be more than happy to contribute what little I can to aid him in his fight against this tyranny! I have to ask the obvious question: If an imam planned on holding an AK-47 or a bomb (which apparently is the typical symbol for the ‘religion of peace’) and reading the Qu’ran in the same area, would HE be threatened with arrest or citation as well? I honestly doubt it!

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The Perpetually Offended

They Don’t Believe In God, Yet Fear Christ?
by J.D. Longstreet

It makes no sense to me. Atheists declare they do not believe in the existence of God, yet they demonstrate an attitude of something akin to fear towards God’s Son, Christ, especially during the annual celebration of Christ’s birth.

Every year, Christians around the world celebrate “Christ Mass” or Christmas. And, every year at that time, those who declare there is no God demonstrate the depth of their “insecurity in their disbelief” by attacking those who celebrate the love and grace of a God who, Christians believe, sent his son into the world to provide a path to eternal life in what they believe is paradise or heaven.

Somehow, this poses a threat to the “God deniers.” I have yet to figure out how.

Ya know…I’ve been questioning the irrational behavior of those people for quite a while.  Why fear something, or Someone you don’t believe in?  In one way, it is rather amusing.  In another, it’s quite sad.  And then, there comes that “Are you people out of your flippin’ minds?” moment.

If you are a true believer, you already know whose hand is at work in all this.  I shouldn’t have to tell you.  :)   To me, it’s quite obvious, and should be to you too!

Oh, don’t throw the old “separation of church and state” argument at me. If it were in the constitution, then I could, and would, support it. But nothing is said in the US Constitution about separation of church and state. The constitution simply forbids the government from establishing a “state church” as some of the old European governments STILL have today. (Even some early American states had their own state religion.)

That ‘separation’ nonsense has been so overused that there are some people in this country who actually believe it is in the U.S. Constitution. Please, if you find it, you’ll let me know, right? I don’t expect any response to the, because it is NOT in there…..ANYWHERE!

It would be wise if people would actually take a Constitution study course. I’ve seen them offered all over the place, people should really take advantage of them. Most of them are offered for free, just asking for a donation to help defray the cost of travel and such that is involved for the instructor. We have a fellow who has classes on a regular basis all over West Tennessee, by the name of Hal Rounds. I’ve no doubt he’d be happy to set up a seminar for your group, church, whatever. :D He’s a good guy.

Tennessee is also lucky to have an actual Constitutional scholar, Publius Huldah, or as those of us who know and love her, known as P/H.  :D   She doesn’t post often to her blog, but if there is ANYTHING you need to know about the Constitution, have some question as to the meaning, or original intent, THAT is the place to find it.  Her post on the ‘separation of church and state‘  is a MUST READ!

The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.  Christmas is actually a FEDERAL holiday..aka HOLY day.  You aren’t being forced to celebrate the birth of Christ, but you also have NO right to push your anti-Christian nonsense on the rest of us. All of those who get their knickers in a twist should volunteer to work that day, and not a one of ‘em should be allowed to take a Christmas vacation. If you don’t believe, fine. Then you shouldn’t be allowed to participate. Just sayin’.

Read J.D.’s whole column here.
