Sell Your Tyson Stock!
The news that Tyson Foods is going to replace a national holiday, Labor Day, with a Muslim holiday, Eid al-Fitr, came out on Friday, the 1st. Several blogs have posted about this outrage, and I linked to one in my usual Saturday afternoon post.
Other blogs with posts concerning this slap:

That’s just to name a few. There are many more.
I had an extremely busy weekend, so was not able to actually post about this….this….outrage!
Union leaders say implementing the holiday was important for the nearly 700 Muslims, many of them Somalis, who work at the plant that employs a total of 1,200 people.
Excuse me? Are there no local citizens who would work at the plant? 700? Isn’t that 700 jobs that could be done by hard working Americans? If they are Somali, they obviously aren’t Americans. Kowtowing to the Muslims by the union? Interesting. Since unions have been working to destroy this country from within for quite a while. Guess they are going to do quite well now, aren’t they.
I can’t add to anything that the others have said about this issue. I will not buy any products from Tyson. Now, or in the future. I’d suggest if you have stock in Tyson, sell it and buy some that actually employs Americans, and isn’t sucking up to the Religion of Pieces.
Are These The People You Want Teaching Your Children?
The NEA Spells Out Its Radical Policies
The nation’s largest teachers union, the National Education Association, attracted 9,000 delegates to its annual convention in Washington, D.C. over the Fourth of July weekend. Delegates sported buttons with provocative slogans such as “Gay marriage causes Global Warming only because we are so hot!”, “Hate is not a family value,” “The ‘Christian Right’ is neither,” and “Gay Rights are civil rights.”
The delegates passed dozens of hard-hitting resolutions that now become the NEA’s official policy. The resolutions authorize NEA members and employees to lobby for those goals in the halls of Congress and state capitols.
NEA resolutions cover the waterfront of all sorts of political issues that have nothing to do with improving education for schoolchildren, such as supporting statehood for the District of Columbia, a “single-payer health care plan” (i.e., government-run), gun control, ratification of the International Criminal Court Treaty, and taking steps “to change activities that contribute to global climate change.”
The NEA fiercely opposes any competition for public schools, such as vouchers, tuition tax credits, parental option plans, or public support of any kind to non-public schools. The NEA strongly opposes designating English as our official language even though such a designation is supported by more than 80 percent of Americans.
Read the rest here.
Teachers no longer seem to be about education. They are all about how they can screw over the taxpayer in the name of socialism. I am disgusted with the state of public education. Schools are failing all over the country, and what is their solution? Throw money at it! Well, money isn’t going to solve the problem. Return to the basics. Take your politics out of the classroom. And stop filling their head with flat out lies.
Yes, I know there are still teachers out there that went into education because they wanted to share knowledge with the kids. But how are they suppose to do that if their union fights against REAL education at every step?
Abolish the NEA…..NOW!

REAL Hope!
This is a true story!
A son asked his father, ‘Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?’ The father who, despite having a heart condition, says ‘Yes’.
They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying ‘Yes’ to his son’s request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, ‘Dad, let’s join the Ironman together.’ To which, his father said ‘Yes’ too.
For those who don’t know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever.
The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.
Father and son went on to complete the race together.

An Interesting Read
I came across this last night at The Thirst for Freedom, and would like to get some of your thoughts on the subject.
Did the Chinese military cause the largest blackout in the history of North America?
That is the assertion of Tim Bennett, the former president of the Cyber Security Industry Alliance, who says U.S. intelligence officials confirmed to him the People’s Liberation Army gained access to a network that controlled electric power systems serving the northeastern U.S. in 2003.
Some 50 million people were affected by the 9,300-square-mile blackout that hit parts of New York, Canada, Michigan and Ohio.
The official explanation for the power outage was that overgrown trees came into contact with strained high-voltage lines in Ohio. But the story of this possible skirmish in the “electromagnetic spectrum” is widely whispered about in defense and intelligence circles. It is referred to by some as the first battle of World War III – a conflict to be fought asymmetrically in cyberspace and with weapons that might seem like science fiction.
The Moscow newspaper Zavtra reported only a week ago that Russia has developed “special powerful electromagnetic impulse generators that may be used in design of new type radars and as a basis of electromagnetic weapons that will render enemy electronics inoperable.”
I’ll be the first to admit, when it comes to this kind of technology, I’m MORE than dumb as a box of rocks. You plug it in, flip the switch, and it’s suppose to work. If the bulb burns out, you change it, flip the switch….all better.
What is being discussed here is way beyond my comprehension. Yes, I understand a bit about EMP, but only what I’ve read. How it’s done, I’m clueless.
A Lert!

People Annoy Me
I observed something today that seriously annoys me. I thought I would share it with ya…..whether ya like it or not.
When I stopped for gas, I pulled in behind a couple of women in a Mercedes who were also getting gas. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but most places you have to prepay these days, so obviously the driver had stuck her credit card in and was filling her car, while her friend went inside.
Now, here’s where I get annoyed. There were cars waiting to get gas because this place was about 7 to 10 cents cheaper than the places close by. What does the woman do? She looks at the cars waiting, and walks into the store. Hmmm….
I finished pumping my gas, and had to back up to get out. The car waiting behind me had to back up so I could back up to get out. I went and parked in a parking place so I could go into the store to get something to drink. The Mercedes woman was just milling around, taking her time, looking at this, that and the other. Well, I realize she was waiting for her friend who was otherwise occupied, but was it necessary for her to just leave her car sitting there next to the pump, where no one else would be able to use it?
Now, the reason I bring this up is because it’s just an example of how self centered people have become in recent years. I’ve noticed such behavior in a lot of areas of general life. Young people shoving in front of older people to get in line to check out at the grocery store or getting a door closed in your face because the person who just walked through is oblivious to anyone around them. Well, you get the picture.
What I’d like to know is just when did it happen? When did we become so disgustingly self centered? What happened to please, thank you, after you, let me get that door for you?
Rewriting History
“The Jewish leadership accepted the resolution, but the Palestinian and Arab leadership did not, which they had a right to do. What they did not have a right to do was attack the nascent Jewish state with the objective – as they acknowledged at the time – of initiating a ‘war of extermination.’ The result was, therefore, a double Nakba: not only of Palestinian-Arab suffering and the creation of a Palestinian refugee problem, but also, with the assault on Israel and on Jews in Arab countries, the creation of a second, much less known, group of refugees – Jewish refugees from Arab countries.”
IT IS tragic to appreciate that had the Partition Resolution been accepted 60 years ago, there would have been no Arab-Israeli war – no refugees, Jewish or Arab – and none of the pain and suffering since. Indeed, we would have been celebrating the 60th anniversary of both the State of Israel and the State of Palestine.
Moreover, this “double rejectionism,” where Arab leadership was prepared to forgo the establishment of a Palestinian state if it meant countenancing a Jewish state in any borders, not only found expression 60 years ago, but has underpinned the Arab-Israeli-Palestinian conflict ever since.
Yet the revisionist Mideast narrative – prejudicial to authentic reconciliation and peace between peoples as well as between states – continues to hold that there was only one victim population, Palestinian refugees, and that Israel was responsible for the Palestinian Nakba of 1948.
How many school kids know that the Arabs living in the region REJECTED an establishment of a Palestinian state? How many Palestinians even know that they leadership of the time refused to give them a “homeland”. I can pretty much guess….not many, if any, are aware of the rejection.
Simply put, the Arab countries not only rejected a Palestinian state and went to war to extinguish the nascent Jewish state, but also targeted the Jewish nationals living in their respective countries, thereby creating two refugee populations – the Palestinian refugee population resulting from the Arab war against Israel, and the Jewish refugees resulting from the Arab war against its own Jewish nationals.
The hatred of the Jews runs pretty deep. This “war” has never been about the establishment of a state for the Palestinians, it’s always been about hatred of a people, and their destruction. The Arabs learned well from the Nazis.
REGRETTABLY, THE United Nations also bears express and continuing responsibility for this distorted Middle East and peace narrative. Since 1948, there have been more than 130 UN resolutions that have specifically dealt with the Palestinian refugee plight. Yet, not one of these UN Resolutions makes any reference to, nor is there any expression of concern for, the plight of the 850,000 Jews displaced from Arab countries. Nor have any of the Arab countries involved – or the Palestinian leadership involved – expressed any acknowledgement, let alone regret, for this pain and suffering, or for their respective responsibility for the pain and suffering.
It’s not really surprising that the Useless Numnuts continue to foster blame on the Israelis.
This is an extremely interesting opinion piece, and well worth your time to read.

Hot Air Tour
Global warming skeptics launch air attack on Gore
A 70-foot-tall hot air balloon was launched and sent floating toward the Belle Meade home of former Vice President Al Gore Friday, emblazoned with large, white letters that read: “Global Warming Alarmism: Lost Jobs, Higher Taxes, Less Freedom.”
That headline is one of the sillier ones I’ve read….today. We all know the Tennessean leans so far to the left, the top honcho’s head is placed in proper position to butt kiss.
The launch and flight over Gore’s home was part of the national “Hot Air Tour,” organized by the libertarian group Americans for Prosperity. Its aim was to point out what the organizers describe as the folly of concern over global warming.
But the flight of the big red balloon was not without incident, including what one park official described as a bit of chicanery on the part of the organizers.
Oh, I dunno. This is coming down to a he said/he said thing. I’m more inclined to believe the folks at Americans for Prosperity, but hey, that’s just me.
The launch originally was supposed to take place at nearby Warner Park. But Friday morning, organizers were told they were running afoul of a Metro Parks ordinance prohibiting hot air balloon launches from any Metro park, and they scrambled to find another site, the backyard of a home at the corner of Sneed and Vaughn roads.
Organizers said the permit, which was obtained Wednesday, was revoked “under mysterious circumstances” and called the withdrawal a “politicized decision.”
Metro Parks Policy Manual: (.pdf lock up my computer, see Bill Hobbs’ post for link)
“Hot Air Balloon launching shall be allowed in Elmington, Cane Ridge and Warner Parks. These launchings must be authorized by permit issued by the Board of Parks and Recreation. Adequate liability insurance as determined by the Metropolitan Government must be provided by the launcher.
I’d say it was definitely a “politicized decision”. They should have launched this one instead:
But he probably wouldn’t understand the meaning.
I wish they had a local chapter, I’d be joining in a heartbeat! Alas, nada for Tennessee.
