I was reading a couple of items on the CNN site, when I noticed something on the side.

The news of Sandra Bullock’s family problems overshadows the evil perpetrated by the Taliban on Afghan women?

What does this say about us? Or is it just that CNN readers/viewers are so freakin’ shallow, that they don’t give a damn what happens to Muslim women, all around the world (including right here in the U.S.), but seeing a conservative leaning Hollywood type’s marriage hit the skids tops their list of must have information?

Yeah. I’m disgusted! Disgusted that so many women in this country have decided baby murder is ok! Disgusted that so called “women’s groups” speak ONLY for lib>progressive>socialist>commie women. Disgusted at the deafening silence over such abuse of women goes on daily! Disgusted! Period!

All the sick folks, and sad stories being paraded by the Obama administration have a back story as well. The Dems have quite a history of exploiting people, especially children, for their own gains. A child losing his mother is sure to pull the heart strings, no matter what. However, they just might want to realize we have the ability to do a bit of searching on our own. Never minimize the child’s loss, but damn sure don’t use that child as a stage prop to spread lies! That’s beyond reprehensible. The Dems have been USING human beings for decades (centuries, actually) now. They still promote slavery! It just doesn’t involved a physical auction block anymore. I’d say this was a new low for Democrats, but this is actually a habit!

ObamaCare Could Cost Me My life
by J.D. Longstreet

Below is a piece I wrote back in 2008.

As we near crunch time in the US Congress on the passage of ObamaCare, I hope this article will serve as a reminder to the millions of Americans who suffer chronic diseases and depend mightily upon the current healthcare system in America for their life. It is a reminder that ObamaCare is a matter of life and death for many of us — yours truly included.

Socialized medicine may seem like a good thing to you; unless you are sick, even less so if you are chronically ill.

We have been warning of the dangers, and the short comings, of socialized medicine for a very long time and it is looking more and more as if we are going to have it rammed down our throats by the democrats… whether we want it or not.

Given a choice between healthcare run by the government and keeping my private insurance and paying the premiums and going to see the doctor, I want to see, and not some civil servant working for the government healthcare system, I’ll take the latter any day. In fact, the choice, for me, is a “no-brainer.”

Since 1965 I have been hospitalized over 70 times. I have had numerous surgeries and I must see a doctor every four to six weeks of my life. See, I know the value of a good healthcare system and I know, first hand, the value of having a doctor, in whom I have confidence, treating me. I know what it means to have a rapport with your physician. That, alone, is tremendously important when you are chronically ill.

Unlike a lot of folks, when I think of nationalized healthcare, I perceive a threat to my life. I have no doubt that the introduction of socialized healthcare in the US will shorten my life and bring it to a termination much sooner than currently expected. In fact, I have no doubt about it. There are millions of Americans, just like me, who will have their lives shortened by the coming socialized medicine in America.

Where oh, where, will the money come from to finance this national money pit? TAXES! Obama has already said he plans on soaking the rich and big business to pay for it. But what about the recession they say we are in? Seems to me a lot of the resources from which Obama had planned to draw the money to finance this mess are drying up, if they haven’t already. Guess where they will turn next for the cash. You’ve got it! You and me!

Why are the dems pushing so hard for socialized medicine in the US? It is another step in their plan to bring the welfare state to America and establish socialism as the “master” form of government in the US!

Look, it matters not what you have been taught in our government schools, there is NO SUCH THING AS FREE HEALTHCARE! SOMEBODY IS GOING TO PAY! Who pays? You and I will pay… in taxes. If you think healthcare is expensive now… just wait ‘til it’s free!

Get a GRIP, America! There is NO FREE LUNCH! There never has been! If you want it… you must be prepared to pay for it.

When you look past the carefully erected façade, the democrats have placed between us and the details of what they have planned for us, you will find that socialized medicine is not about healthcare. It’s about power and control of this nation’s citizens. Obama and his minions have placed this nation on the fast track to socialism and socialized medicine is a major, major, step in accomplishing that goal.

I don’t know about you, but I plan to fight their plans for socialized medicine in America every step of the way. I am expecting to lose, but, hey, I’m fighting for my life.

What the Senate Bill Would Do To America
The Foundry

Another day, another no-show for the Obamacare reconciliation bill. House Democrats were quick to shift blame to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) with Rep. Robert Andrews telling The Hill that the delay “has been much more technical than substantive. … It’s not like what tax has to go or what spending has to go.” Which is an interesting claim, since Politico reported that AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was summoned to the White House yesterday afternoon “to discuss a higher-than-expected excise tax on some health care plans.” In fact, Politico added: “A labor source said Trumka’s meeting would focus on the entire bill, not just the excise tax question.” Sounds like more than just technical details are still in flux.

But in reality, none of these discussions really matter. The reconciliation bill being drafted is nothing more than thin political cover for House Democrats who believe the Senate bill is terrible public policy but want to please their leadership and the President by voting for it anyway. As we detailed yesterday, there is no bill but the Senate bill. Once the House passes the Senate bill, the President will sign it. Game over. It has been almost three months since the Senate passed their bill in the dead of night on Christmas Eve. A review of just how terrible it really is, is in order:

New Middle-Class Taxes: Throughout his campaign, President Barack Obama promised he would not raise taxes on American households making less than $250,000. The Senate bill shatters that promise. For starters, just look at the reason Trumka went to the White House yesterday: the excise tax on high-cost health insurance plans. This tax would overwhelmingly hit middle-class taxpayers. Taxes on prescription drugs, wheel chairs and other medical devices would also be passed on to all consumers, hitting the lower- and middle- classes the hardest.

Increased Health Care Costs: The Senate bill manifestly does nothing to bend the health care cost curve downward. According to the latest CBO report, the Senate bill would actually increase health care spending by $210 billion over the next 10 years. This follows a previous report from the President’s own Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) showing the Senate bill would result in $234 billion in additional health care spending over 10 years.

Increased Health Insurance Premiums: The President initially promised that Americans would see a $2,500 annual reduction in their family health care costs. But under the Senate bill, premiums would go up for millions of Americans. In fact, according to the CBO, estimated premiums in the individual market would be 10–13 percent higher by 2016 than they would be under current law.

Increased Deficits: Despite claiming to be comprehensive health care reform, the Senate bill does not address the fact that Medicare’s current price-fixing doctor reimbursement scheme is set to reduce doctor payments by 21% this year. That simply is not going to happen. Congress will pass that fix separately. If that cost were included, Obamacare is already $200 billion in the red. Now throw in the fact that the Senate bill is paid for with another $463 billion in Medicare cuts to health care providers. CMS says if these cuts occur, one-fifth of all health care providers will face bankruptcy. That simply is not going to happen. Just like the doctor reimbursement cuts have never happened, the Obamacare Medicare cuts will never happen. So in reality, Obamacare will add almost $700 billion to our national deficit in the next ten years alone.

Increases Unemployment and Puts Millions of Americans on Welfare: According to The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis (CDA), a dynamic analysis of the tax hikes and deficits created by the Senate bill shows that an average 690,000 jobs per year would be lost if it became law. In addition, over half of all Americans who would gain health insurance through the bill (18 million out of 33 million) would do so by being placed on Medicaid, which is a welfare program.

Higher taxes, higher health care costs, higher health insurance premiums, higher deficits, more unemployment and more Americans on welfare. That is America’s future should the Senate Obamacare bill become law.

While attending a Marriage Weekend, Walter and his wife, Ann, listened to the instructor declare, ‘It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other..”

He then addressed the men, ‘Can you name and describe your wife’s favorite flower?’

Walter leaned over, touched Ann’s arm gently, and whispered, ‘Gold Medal-All-Purpose, isn’t it?’

And thus began Walter’s life of celibacy……….

by Ann Coulter

Liberals keep complaining that Republicans don’t have a plan for reforming health care in America. I have a plan!

It’s a one-page bill creating a free market in health insurance. Let’s all pause here for a moment so liberals can Google the term “free market.”

Nearly every problem with health care in this country — apart from trial lawyers and out-of-date magazines in doctors’ waiting rooms — would be solved by my plan.

In the first sentence, Congress will amend the McCarran-Ferguson Act to allow interstate competition in health insurance.

We can’t have a free market in health insurance until Congress eliminates the antitrust exemption protecting health insurance companies from competition. If Democrats really wanted to punish insurance companies, which they manifestly do not, they’d make insurers compete.

The very next sentence of my bill provides that the exclusive regulator of insurance companies will be the state where the company’s home office is. Every insurance company in the country would incorporate in the state with the fewest government mandates, just as most corporations are based in Delaware today.

That’s the only way to bypass idiotic state mandates, requiring all insurance plans offered in the state to cover, for example, the Zone Diet, sex-change operations, and whatever it is that poor Heidi Montag has done to herself this week.

President Obama says we need national health care because Natoma Canfield of Ohio had to drop her insurance when she couldn’t afford the $6,700 premiums, and now she’s got cancer.

Much as I admire Obama’s use of terminally ill human beings as political props, let me point out here that perhaps Natoma could have afforded insurance had she not been required by Ohio’s state insurance mandates to purchase a plan that covers infertility treatments and unlimited OB/GYN visits, among other things.

It sounds like Natoma could have used a plan that covered only the basics — you know, things like cancer.

The third sentence of my bill would prohibit the federal government from regulating insurance companies, except for normal laws and regulations that apply to all companies.

Freed from onerous state and federal mandates turning insurance companies into public utilities, insurers would be allowed to offer a whole smorgasbord of insurance plans, finally giving consumers a choice.

Instead of Harry Reid deciding whether your insurance plan covers Viagra, this decision would be made by you, the consumer. (I apologize for using the terms “Harry Reid” and “Viagra” in the same sentence. I promise that won’t happen again.)

Instead of insurance companies jumping to the tune of politicians bought by health-care lobbyists, they would jump to tune of hundreds of millions of Americans buying health insurance on the free market.

Hypochondriac liberals could still buy the aromatherapy plan and normal people would be able to buy plans that only cover things such as major illness, accidents and disease. (Again — things like Natoma Canfield’s cancer.)

This would, in effect, transform medical insurance into … a form of insurance!

My bill will solve nearly every problem allegedly addressed by ObamaCare — and mine entails zero cost to the taxpayer. Indeed, a free market in health insurance would produce major tax savings as layers of government bureaucrats, unnecessary to medical service in America, get fired.

For example, in a free market, the government wouldn’t need to prohibit insurance companies from excluding “pre-existing conditions.”

Of course, an insurance company has to be able to refuse NEW customers with “pre-existing conditions.” Otherwise, everyone would just wait to get sick to buy insurance. It’s the same reason you can’t buy fire insurance on a house that’s already on fire.

That isn’t an “insurance company”; it’s what’s known as a “Christian charity.”

What Democrats are insinuating when they denounce exclusions of “pre-existing conditions” is an insurance company using the “pre-existing condition” ruse to deny coverage to a current policy holder — someone who’s been paying into the plan, year after year.

Any insurance company operating in the free market that pulled that trick wouldn’t stay in business long.

If hotels were as heavily regulated as health insurance is, right now I’d be explaining to you why the government doesn’t need to mandate that hotels offer rooms with beds. If they didn’t, they’d go out of business.

I’m sure people who lived in the old Soviet Union thought it was crazy to leave groceries to the free market. (“But what if they don’t stock the food we want?”)

The market is a more powerful enforcement mechanism than indolent government bureaucrats. If you don’t believe me, ask Toyota about six months from now.

Right now, insurance companies are protected by government regulations from having to honor their contracts. Violating contracts isn’t so easy when competitors are lurking, ready to steal your customers.

In addition to saving taxpayer money and providing better health insurance, my plan also saves trees by being 2,199 pages shorter than the Democrats’ plan.

Feel free to steal it, Republicans!

I began this week with a small, very small, remnant of hope that the Democats/Progresssives/Socialist/Marxists in the US House of Representatives would fail in their under-handed, lowdown, sneaky, and in my opinion, dishonorable attempt to pass ObamaCare into law WITHOUT it ever having passed the House by a vote. But as the days have passed it has become ever more clear that that is exactly what they are going to do.

We have warned our readers over and over that America, under the Obama Regime, has become a Socialist republic, not unlike the Democratic Socialist Republic of the former Soviet Union, or the current Democratic People’s Republic of (North) Korea. America is no longer a constitutional republic as it has been since The Founders of our nation gave us the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

In less than a year and a half, Obama has fulfilled his campaign promise to “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA!”

I’m not really sure how many more ways we can say it! This is NOT the America that the majority of the citizens want to live in. There will be no prosperity, no liberty, no ‘beacon of hope’ for the world.

I’m thinking that those of us who are PRO-Constitutional Americans will be the ones teaching the ANTI’s a hard lesson in the not too distant future. Patriots V Tories. If you don’t get the reference, you’re education is sorely lacking, and you might want to do a little investigating. The lies just keep on coming. Past time to learn the TRUTH.

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. … And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”
~ Thomas Jefferson ~

This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins.

The people in Washington, D.C., our so called elected officials, spend money like there’s no tomorrow. Putting aside the horror they call ‘health care reform’ for a minute, what else are the weasels up to? Well, I guess I thought, perhaps, at least the Republicans were getting the message on spending. Not so.

The aide noted that McConnell appointed an internal task force in 2008 to come up with recommendations regarding earmarks, but little was done to implement its recommendations.

GOP Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), who also sits on the Appropriations panel, was the only member of GOP leadership to vote against the DeMint amendment Tuesday, but he did support a similar effort in 2008.

“I supported it before because I thought we needed some reforms, and we’ve taken some reforms,” Alexander said of the increased transparency of earmark requests.

Alexander continued: “If you have a couple of bad acts at the Grand Ole Opry, you don’t cancel the Opry. You cancel the bad acts, and what we need to do is make sure is that if we have reforms that need to be had or abuses that need to be stopped, that we do that. And we’ve taken some steps to do that.”

Excuse me? To quote Everett Dirksen: “A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money.” And to think, my opinion of Alexander was starting to improve, some what. Welp, he’s managed to slide back into the ‘feckless weasel” category! When are they going to remember….IT’S NOT THEIR MONEY?!

SEC. 1233. ADVANCE CARE PLANNING CONSULTATION.

Read the whole section. Look up references to ‘clearing houses’. Interesting. While this definition relates to investments, it pretty much sums up what most of the others say.

Page 1481- lines 19-23: ‘‘(E) An explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title.
Page 1482 – lines 1-8: ‘‘(F)(i) Subject to clause (ii), an explanation of orders regarding life sustaining treatment or similar orders, which shall include—
‘‘(I) the reasons why the development of such an order is beneficial to the individual and the individual’s family and the reasons why such an order should be updated periodically as the health of the individual changes;

Pardon my supposed ignorance, but what business is it of the “Secretary”, or anyone else, for that matter, what goes on between a doctor, patient, and the family? Oh, oops. That’s right. Silly me.

Page 1546/1547 – lines 7-27, 1-6: Marriage and Family Therapist Services

‘‘(jjj)(1) The term ‘marriage and family therapist services’ means services performed by a marriage and family therapist (as defined in paragraph (2)) for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses, which the marriage and family therapist is legally authorized to perform under State law (or the State regulatory mechanism provided by State law) of the State in which such services are performed, as would otherwise be covered if furnished by a physician or as incident to a physician’s professional service, but only if no facility or other provider charges or is paid any amounts with respect to the furnishing of such services.
‘‘(2) The term ‘marriage and family therapist’ mean an individual who—
‘‘(A) possesses a master’s or doctoral degree which qualifies for licensure or certification as a marriage and family therapist pursuant to State law;
‘‘(B) after obtaining such degree has performed at least 2 years of clinical supervised experience in marriage and family therapy; and ‘‘(C) is licensed or certified as a marriage and family therapist in the State in which marriage and family therapist services are performed.’’.

Defining a marriage councilor? All well and good. I go to my pastor, personally, if I have issues that need addressing, as do a great number of folks I know. I’m wondering if my pastor, and many others, will be prohibited from acting as councilors to their congregations under these new ‘rules’? When they say ‘legally authorized’, I’ve no doubt there will be consequences for any pastor, priest, etc., acting as a councilor.

Page 2147: SEC. 208. LOAN REPAYMENT FOR CIVIL LEGAL ASSISTANCE ATTORNEYS.

This section doesn’t say a whole lot, except changing dates, adding semicolons, etc. But I really have to ask….what do loan payment to lawyers have to do with so called ‘health care’?

LOANS ELIGIBLE FOR LIBOR-BASED CALCULATION? (page 2161) Isn’t that related to home loans? The name Fannie Mae popped up.

I notice this bill also address ‘education’. Education. EARLY childhood education.

Page 2271 – lines 16-24: Evaluating barriers to improving the quality of early learning programs serving low-income children, including evaluating barriers to successful interagency collaboration and coordination, by conducting a review of the statewide strategic reports developed by the State Advisory Councils on Early Care and Education and other relevant reports, reporting the findings of such review to Congress, and disseminating relevant research findings and best practices.

Small 2 legged guinea pigs to find out which methods of indoctrination works best? Just asking.

To quote a memo released yesterday by Ninny’s office (Office of the Assistant to the Speaker): Many of the conservative activists are not opposing the actual provisions in the bill, but are instead reacting to a caricature of the reform bill presented by right-wing media outlets. Uh. Wrong. On both counts! Folks out here are actually READING the bills you assjacks are shoving down our throats, while y’all are not! And we STILL oppose it!

While we have been paying attention to the Tax and Control Congress is trying to shove down our throats, the Democrats have come up with another way to further erode society. Yesterday, Rep. Fortney Stark (D-CA13) and 14 of his fellow Dem congress critters introduced H.R. 3827, magnanimously titled Every Child Deserves a Family Act. How can anyone argue with that? Of course every child deserves a family!

Unfortunately, the intent of such a bill is not a return to the value of the nuclear family. The family that prays together, stays together idea. It’s not even a bill that would help kids with abstinence, so they won’t be having children they can’t afford, nor know how to raise. It doesn’t address serious issue like the cycle of poverty, or drug abuse. No, what it does it is open the door for further erosion of what is right and wrong.

To prohibit discrimination in adoption or foster care placements based on the sexual orientation, gender identification, or marital status of any prospective adoptive or foster parent.

Now, I don’t give a flying flip if a person is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered, or whatever else they want to call themselves. That’s between them and God. Condoning sin, is sin.

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

That goes for the opposite as well. Now, I know there are way too many these days who are going to come out of the woodwork just to call someone like me all kinds of names, just because my faith teaches me right from wrong. That makes me ‘intolerant’, yada yada. Whatever! But when push comes to shove, wrong is still wrong. I won’t apologize for my faith.

Do I have a problem with gay couples fostering children? Honestly, no, not really, in the SHORT run. There are a lot of loving people of all “orientations”, who can provide for children until appropriate homes can be found for them.

One of the biggest problems in the U.S. right now is not the lack of couples wanting to adopt. It’s how difficult the bureaucracies have made it! Why not address this problem, instead of pushing the homosexual agenda? While I don’t believe that all homosexuals would consider abusing a child, anymore than all heterosexuals would. But, isn’t it quite possible this type of thing will open the door for such abuses?
