Feds Spend $1.5 Million to Study Why Lesbians Are Fat
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $1.5 million to study biological and social factors for why “three-quarters” of lesbians are obese and why gay males are not, calling it an issue of “high public-health significance.”
Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., has received two grants administered by NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to study the relationship between sexual orientation and obesity.
Just who thought this was a good idea? How ’bout let’s foot the bill for a study on why members of Congress are assholes!!!! Give me 1.5 MILLION dollars, and I give ya an answer! And find out just who are the worst assholes! Most would be Democrats, but I can guarantee there would be quite a few Republicans on that list as well!

Relaxation of US cannabis laws ‘violates UN drug conventions’
Cannabis decriminalisation measures across the United States, including the medical use of marijuana in California, have been sharply criticised by the United Nations, which has warned Washington they violate the international drug conventions.
The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), which polices the drug treaties, has also warned about the growing public health threat from the “unprecedented surge” in “legal highs” and called for concerted global action to curb the growing trade.
Launching its annual report in London, Raymond Yans, the INCB president, said that the successful ballots in Colorado and Washington to legalise the use of cannabis for recreational purposes and the fact that Massachusetts had recently become the 18th state to allow the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes violate the international drug conventions.
“They also undermine the humanitarian aims of the drug control system and are a threat to public health and wellbeing,” said Yans. He claimed that so-called “medicinal use” initiatives were little more than “a back-door to legalisation for recreational use”.
The INCB has warned the US government that medical cannabis must be properly regulated. “In some US states they are being operated in a way that is completely inappropriate and outside of the conventions,” the report says.
I’ll be perfectly honest…. I don’t think legalizing pot is such a great idea, but if certain states do legalize it, then that’s going to be their problem. I’m sure they’ll find out eventually perhaps they made a mistake. That being said, I don’t recall ANYWHERE in the U.S. Constitution that a foreign body, aka the Useless Nations has any say in what we, and a sovereign nation do. Nope. Nowhere!
Now, if there are other countries who want to allow the UN to order them around, that’s their business. Makes ‘em look stupid and incompetent to run their own countries, but hey…it’s still their own business. WE, The People of the United States, on the other hand, do NOT wish a bunch of feckless, foreign, corrupt, weasels telling us what we can, and cannot, do. We have enough of those already in D.C., thank you very much.

No children are going to starve! No air traffic controllers are going to let your plane crash! In the grand scheme of things, $86 billion is a drop in the bucket. Or is it $89 billion? Whatever. It’s still NOTHING compared to the billions upon billions that are wasted by the federal government and it’s alphabets on a daily basis! Now get up off your sorry asses and get to work! The border is NOT more secure than it’s ever been. We have NO business supporting murderers for decades…one bullet, problem solved! We have NO business supporting criminal aliens, AND their offspring. And NO MORE money for Obama’s cronies, in Hollyweird, or anywhere else! Imagine the BILLIONS we could save if Congress would do the job set forth in the Constitution, and no more! Mind boggling!

Ouch! Teacher accused of making sixth-graders write on sandpaper until their fingers bled
A teacher at a public middle school in Florida has rubbed parents and school officials the wrong way with her highly unorthodox teaching methods.
The teacher, Anna Garrett, is on paid leave and under investigation because she allegedly used sandpaper to punish students who misspelled words during a spelling lesson, reports St. Petersburg CBS affiliate WTSP.
The alleged incident occurred on Jan. 23 in class in a sixth-grade class at Burns Middle School in Brandon, Fla., a rapidly growing Tampa area suburb.
Students and parents complained that Garrett forced the students to write previously misspelled words onto sandpaper repeatedly – until the coarse surface caused their fingers to bleed.
“We had to trace letters like ‘I’ and ‘J’,” 11-year-old Josh Sommer told CBS Tampa Bay. “By the end of the time, my whole table was bleeding.”
I’m all for kids learning how to spell correctly. I wouldn’t mind seeing proper punctuation either, but that’s another story. Apparently, penmanship is a thing of the past as well. 
Way back in the Stone Age, when I was in school, we learned how to spell words by writing them over and over, looking them up on the dictionary, learning the proper use of said word, etc. There was no sandpaper involved. Just a lot of repetition, which actually WORKS!
We have teachers who post pictures of themselves, drugged and naked. We have teachers having sex with their students. We have teachers who are mentally and emotionally abusive to students. Now, we can add sadists to that list? Is this the ‘education’ that parents pay their taxes to promote? No, I didn’t think so! But I can bet ya dollars to donuts, every one of ‘em are a member of their teachers union. Just sayin’.

Senate approves Kerry for secretary of state
The Senate overwhelmingly confirmed President Obama’s choice of five-term Sen. John Kerry to be secretary of state, with Republicans and Democrats praising him as the ideal successor to Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The vote Tuesday was 94-3. One senator — Kerry — voted present and accepted congratulations from colleagues on the Senate floor. The roll call came just hours after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved the man who has led the panel for the past four years.
Overwhelmingly? Which means Republicans are useless to the country now. Congratulations. You have now given approval to Obama’s plans to destroy the country. You can all kiss my red, white and blue hind end! I will do all I can to see every single one of you replaced by those who actually BELIEVE in the Constitution and aren’t Obama sh*t lickers!
Hoeven (R-ND) and Murray (D-WA) didn’t vote, but it wouldn’t have made a difference. We got screwed once again!

Whoops—’Cash for Clunkers’ Actually Hurt the Environment
According to E Magazine, the “Clunkers” program, which is officially known as the Car Allowance Rebates System (CARS), produced tons of unnecessary waste while doing little to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
The program’s first mistake seems to have been its focus on car shredding, instead of car recycling. With 690,000 vehicles traded in, that’s a pretty big mistake.
According to the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), automobiles are almost completely recyclable, down to their engine oil and brake fluid. But many of the “Cash for Clunkers” cars were never sent to recycling facilities. The agency reports that the cars’ engines were instead destroyed by federal mandate, in order to prevent dealers from illicitly reselling the vehicles later.
The remaining parts of each car could then be put up for auction, but program guidelines also required that after 180 days, no matter how much of the car was left, the parts woud be sent to a junkyard and shredded.
And they are just now figuring this out? This is something that people with actual common sense already knew! Just more proof that Demtards are too stupid to breathe without instructions, and WAY too stupid to hold elected office. Apparently, not a one of ‘em ever sits down and considers the ramifications of their actions. Hence, we’re in a whole heap of hurt due to the asininity of politicians.

Senators Got 154-Page ‘Fiscal Cliff’ Bill 3 Minutes Before Voting on It
The U.S. Senate voted 89-8 to approve legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff despite having only 3 minutes to read the 154-page bill and budget score.
Multiple Senate sources have confirmed to CNSNews.com that senators received the bill at approximately 1:36 AM on Jan. 1, 2013 – a mere three minutes before they voted to approve it at 1:39 AM.
Do you sign a contract without reading it first? If so, you are as stupid as those 89 U.S. Senators!
The bill is 154-pages and includes several provisions that are unrelated to the fiscal cliff, including repealing a section of ObamaCare, extending the wind-energy tax credit, and a rum tax subsidy deal for Puerto Rican rum makers.
Excuse me? Tax credits for wind energy? You mean those big ol’ wind mill things that kill thousands of birds, including endangered species, on a regular basis? And rum? I wasn’t aware that rum was a necessity of life, unlike food that is becoming more and more expensive thanks to the fecklessness of Congress, and that fool in the White House.

It could be considered the first vote of the 2016 presidential primary, and Sen. Marco Rubio defied most of his party by voting against the “fiscal cliff” deal GOP leader Sen. Mitch McConnell and Vice President Joseph R. Biden struck.
Mr. Rubio was one of just eight senators to vote against the legislation, which cleared in an easy 89-8 vote just after 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

To be honest, I don’t think these two men voted against it because they were thinking of 2016. I believe they did it because it was the RIGHT thing to do. Isn’t it a shame that so many others with that R behind their names are incapable of standing on principle?
Many of the GOP’s staunchest fiscal conservatives voted for the agreement, including Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee.
In other cases, my respect level went down. Didn’t have much for TN senators anymore anyway. I have NO respect for Democrat>liberal>progressive>socialist>communist anyway, so that’s not an issue.

A pay raise, eh? While companies are laying people off, while citizens are doing their best to make ends meet, feed their children, make sure they have shoes on their feet, trying to keep a roof over their heads, putting off buying that new refrigerator, or car that needs to be replaced, the POS occupying the White House decides he has the authority to take more of our money to pay people who do very little to earn it, as we prepare to splat on the bottom of the ‘fiscal cliff’. Deleted Comments Concerning Cameo’s Poem
Well, so I copied and pasted a beautiful poem written by someone I don’t know, and what a amazing response. I say amazing because there were many comments that were positive, which were approved. On the other hand, we also had some that were were vulgar, and down right disrespectful to the author. Those comments were NOT approved. No, I thought they should have a post of their own, just to show what kind of hateful people we have to deal with on a regular basis. If you are blogger, you know exactly what I mean. If you are not, then take heed….some of these types of people may be your ‘friends’. You might want to be wary of them.
If you have read the poem, and the comments, I’m sure you noticed nyp, whose comments I made the mistake of approving. He’s rather mild in comparison. All first time commenters have to be approved by me. I pay for this thing, so I get the last word in what is approved, and what is stuffed in the ‘trash’, where it belongs. So, here goes!

I’ve been doing a bit of web surfing to see the effect this poem is having. Many people are saying that it is making them phisically sick to read it. At least 26 families have been devistated by the worst possible thing that could ever happen to them and this is making it look like somethig good happened. It may make the writer feel good and it may make some Christians feel good but it is completely insensitive to the grief of the families, most of whom are not religious.
Apparently, Virginia felt the need to share the comments that other had made on Facebook when they read this beautiful poem. Well, Virginia…. I don’t give a damn what those people had to say. They have their own issues to deal with, and it is NOT my problem if they can’t see the love that was put into Cameo’s poem.

Well Paul, my intentions were to share with my regular readers what I found to be a beautiful and loving piece. Your intentions, on the other hand, seem to be quite the opposite. While your comment was not as offensive as some of the others, and you did refrain from using vulgarities that others insisted upon, I guess from their lack of command of the English language, under normal circumstances, I would have gone ahead and given you an approval. However, my patience with the insults to the author have come to an end. Unlike the left, I’m extremely tolerant, up to a point. I have often been criticized for allowing some people to speak their minds. I’m very pro 1st Amendment, and believe, right or wrong, all of us are entitled to our beliefs, and to express those beliefs. The problem I had was the link to HuffPo. It doesn’t matter if the children were raised in Christian homes or not. That doesn’t stop Jesus from loving them, as I said before.

In the aftermath of the nearly unfathomable events in Kansas City, that most mindless of sports clichés was heard yet again: Something like this really puts it all in perspective. Well, if so, that sort of perspective has a very short shelf-life since we will inevitably hear about the perspective we have supposedly again regained the next time ugly reality intrudes upon our games. Please, those who need tragedies to continually recalibrate their sense of proportion about sports would seem to have little hope of ever truly achieving perspective. You want some actual perspective on this? Well, a bit of it comes from the Kansas City-based writer Jason Whitlock with whom I do not always agree, but who today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article.
“Our current gun culture,”Whitlock wrote, “ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.”

Tell that to the thousands upon thousands of would be victims of a violent crime who took down the criminal BEFORE he/she had a chance to turn the ‘victim’ into a statistic! Belcher snapped, plain and simple, and if it hadn’t been a gun, it could easily have been a baseball bat, a knife, a screwdriver, or even a Bic pen, used to murder his girlfriend.
This was a tragedy, one that MIGHT have been prevented. But the person who pulled the trigger is responsible for his actions, not the gun, and not the MILLIONS of responsible gun owners, using their God given, and 2nd Amendment, right, to protect themselves from the criminal element who don’t care if they possess a gun legally or not! I, and the millions of others like me are highly offended at your words, and would appreciate if you would….
