Repeating Reagan’s HUGE Mistake

We’ve Seen the Effect of “Amnesty” Before
Ed Meese – The Foundry

Experts can’t always predict exactly how public policy will affect the nation, despite our best efforts. But when it comes to immigration policy, we have tried many of the types of reforms advocated by today’s Gang of Eight—so we should consider the effects these reforms had in the past.

In the mid-’80s, many Members of Congress advocated amnesty for long-settled illegal immigrants. President Reagan considered it reasonable to adjust the status of what was then a relatively small population, and as his attorney general, I supported his decision.

The path to citizenship was not automatic. Immigrants had to pay application fees, learn to speak English, understand American civics, pass a medical exam, and register for military selective service. Those with convictions for a felony or three misdemeanors were ineligible.

This should sound familiar, as it’s quite close to the path and provisions set forth by the Gang of Eight.

Today they call it a “roadmap to citizenship.” Ronald Reagan called it “amnesty.” And he was right.

The 1986 reform did not solve our immigration problem—in fact, the population of illegal immigrants has nearly quadrupled since that “comprehensive” bill.

Why didn’t it work? Well, one reason is that everything else the 1986 bill promised—from border security to law enforcement—was to come later. It never did. Only amnesty prevailed, and that encouraged more illegal immigration.

Today, we have many of the same needs we did then. We need to work on better securing our border. We need to modernize our legal immigration system, including effective temporary worker programs. And we need strong enforcement of the laws we already have, including those that enforce immigration policies in the workplace.

The Gang of Eight is making promises now. “Border security” is a big promise. But their proposal spends money and grants amnesty without the guarantee that this promise will be kept.

We are having much the same debate and being offered much the same deal in exchange for promises largely dependent on the will of future Congresses and Presidents.

Instead, we should learn from our mistakes.

America welcomes more immigrants than any other country. As Ronald Reagan said:

In this free land a person can realize his dreams—going as far as talent and drive can carry him. In return America asks each of us to do our best, to work hard, to respect the law, to cherish human rights, and to strive for the common good. The immigrants who have so enriched America include people from every race, creed, and ethnic background. Yet all have been drawn here by shared values and a deep love of freedom. Most brought with them few material goods. But with their hearts and minds and toil they have contributed mightily to the building of this great Nation and endowed us with the riches of their achievements. Their spirit continues to nourish our own love of freedom and opportunity.

But in keeping open that door of opportunity, we also must uphold the rule of law and enhance a fair immigration process, as Reagan said, to “humanely regain control of our borders and thereby preserve the value of one of the most sacred possessions of our people: American citizenship.”

It’s Corruption, Not Care

16 May 2013, 8:24 am. 6 Comments. Filed under ObamaCare, Opinion.

It’s well known how I feel about Obamacare, so I really can’t add anything to what Mr DeMint has said, except this whole fiasco caused by Obama and his minions is nothing but one HUGE lie!

Obamacare Is About Power
Jim DeMint – The Foundry

Members of the House of Representatives are scheduled to vote Thursday to repeal all of Obamacare. Given that the House voted to repeal the law last year, some commentators and observers have questioned the need for another repeal vote.

However, the scandals coming to light over the last week perfectly make the case for why Congress must eradicate the law from the statute books.

On Friday, the Internal Revenue Service finally disclosed that it had spent years targeting tea party and other conservative groups, delaying their applications for non-profit status and giving those applications additional scrutiny — solely because of those groups’ political beliefs.

Also on Friday, The Washington Post revealed that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius personally asked health industry groups to contribute to Enroll America, a pro-Obamacare front group working to “educate” the public about the law’s supposed benefits.

Profiling Those Evil Patriots

15 May 2013, 8:16 am. No Comments. Filed under Opinion.

Apparently, if you love this country, and want her to succeed, you are an enemy of the “state”. If you believe that people are capable of supporting their families, instead of relying on the “state”, you are their enemy. If you believe that the U.S. Constitution should be upheld at every level, you are their enemy. If you speak out against the out of control spending, you are the enemy. Basically, if you say anything against this administration’s policies, you are definitely the enemy, and a racist as well.

WE knew this in depth scrutiny was happening. THEY called us paranoid, and conspiracy theorists. Well, I think we’ve been vindicated by the IRS’s admission to this practice. Obama said ‘IF’ this happened? Apparently, someone keeps him completely out of the loop and fails to keep him informed of current, and quite serious, events. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an ill informed, or misinformed, bunch in my life.

I happened to hear part of Sean Hannity’s show yesterday on my way back the doctor in Jackson. There was a caller who described almost the same sort of scrutiny at the airport, coming home from Jamaica, as I had received. Luckily, I wasn’t taken into the little room with the two female security agents, but the rest? Yep, excessive groping. She found out that the reason for the extra scrutiny, from the agents themselves, our government had put her on a list for such actions. It got me to wondering… Was that why I had so many security agents groping me? Not just in Jamaica, but when we arrived back in Memphis, I had to be groped again, just to get out of the airport. Even the Mr is wondering, because I too have spoken out against this administration, was I targeted? I have no group, but the lady caller did… A ministry for the troops with the word “patriot” in the name.

So, it’s not just the IRS that is targeting patriotic citizens. We are all under serious scrutiny in various ways. Yes, we must redouble our efforts if we want to, not save the Republic, but return our country to a Republic!

The IRS Wants to Know If You’re a “Patriot”
Matthew Spalding, Ph.D. – The Foundry

Across this great land, patriotic Americans are behaving subversively.

We’re quoting from our pocket Constitutions, starting reading groups to discuss our founding documents, even gathering together to “petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Uncle Sam is not amused.

As leaders of tea party groups have been painfully aware for years, the Internal Revenue Service has given “special” attention to conservative groups.

No, It Is NOT Your Body

14 May 2013, 7:59 am. No Comments. Filed under Life, Opinion, Pond Scum.

Finally, one step forward! While the conviction of that butcher is a step in the right direction, we have many more steps to go. And it won’t be easy.

For some reason, there are so many women who hate children, of any color, that they’d rather see them torn apart than live a full life, perhaps adopted by a loving couple, grow up to be a productive member of society. Others believe it’s a convenient form of birth control. But how many have actually seen the results? Tiny bodies, turned into tiny pieces, or drowned in salt water, brutalized by a soulless being.

Abortion is not about the ‘health of women’. It never has been. It’s about the consequences of a selfish, uncaring child in an adult body.

When that heartbeat is detected at 18 days, you can’t say it’s your body.  That’s someone else’s body.  Who’s to say that the heart isn’t beating before then?  Just because it can’t be detected by current medical equipment, doesn’t mean it’s not there.  No, this is another human being that is being killed, at your whim.  Murder is not health care!

Serving Justice to Gosnell
Sarah Torre – The Foundry

Justice has been served for a few infants and one mother whose lives were taken within the filthy walls of 3801 Lancaster Avenue.

Late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted yesterday of first-degree murder in the deaths of three infants who were born alive after botched abortions performed in his run-down West Philadelphia clinic. He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, a 41-year-old woman who died from an overdose of anesthetic drugs during an abortion procedure.

The jury’s deliberations came after six weeks of harrowing testimony detailing the brutal deaths of newborns and unthinkable mistreatment of women. The gruesome murder of moving, breathing infants after botched abortions allegedly became a regular occurrence at the filthy West Philadelphia facility, with one clinic worker estimating nearly 100 living babies were killed shortly after birth.

Government Grows As WE, The People, Disappear

13 May 2013, 8:18 am. 4 Comments. Filed under Opinion.

Whenever I see the word “fair” attached to anything Congress puts out, or when anyone in the administration uses the word, I know there is nothing FAIR about it!

The Ugly Facts About the Internet Sales Tax
Amy Payne – The Foundry

The Internet sales tax passed the Senate, but a growing chorus is pointing out that it would hurt many to help the tax man.

The Senate passed the misleadingly named Marketplace Fairness Act last week by a vote of 69-27. But House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that he is unlikely to support it—and other House Members said they want to take a thorough look at it through the normal committee process.

“Moving this bill where you’ve got 50 different sales tax codes, it’s a mess out there,” Boehner said. “You’re going to make it much more difficult for online retailers to be able to comply.”

Not only would it charge a new sales tax to many consumers shopping online, but it fails to do what its proponents say—achieve “fairness” for stores.

As Heritage’s Curtis Dubay says:

The MFA is anything but fair, because instead of leveling the playing field, it would tilt it decidedly against online retailers, particularly small ones. Brick-and-mortar stores would still have to collect sales taxes only where they are physically present. Online retailers would have to collect sales taxes from the nearly 10,000 sales tax jurisdictions around the country where their customers live. That is not an equal burden.

For someone running—or thinking about starting—a small online business, trying to deal with tax codes for all of the states that charge sales tax is a huge deterrent.

Yet the Senate rushed this bill through. Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist said the rush itself was one of the reasons the Internet sales tax made it this far.

“It’s only passing the Senate because they took it out of regular order,” he said. “Why did they want to rush it through without amendments? Why did they do that? Because if people looked at it too long, it wouldn’t pass easily.”

The House is going to consider the bill through the normal committee channels, giving Members more time to review it and ask questions.

This also allows time for more facts to enter the debate and misconceptions to be exposed. Share this with your friends and family to spread the word.

Tax and SPEND SPEND SPEND!

10 May 2013, 10:00 am. No Comments. Filed under Congress, Economy, Opinion, Politics, Taxes.

Most people, when they get to the end of their paycheck, do without. Not our Congress! Nope! They believe that since it’s not their money they are spending, and don’t have to work hard to earn it, they can do what they damn well please. Well, guess what ya free spending scum bags….WE CAN’T AFFORD YOU! Perhaps it’s time for WE, The People to put them on a strict budget. NO PAY! NO PERKS! If they want to serve in Congress, then that’s what they’ll do…SERVE….not be served!  That goes for the free spending POTUS as well.  NO more lavish parties!  NO more flitting about the world on expensive vacations.  NO more day trips to campaign!  ENOUGH!!

They have turned the citizens into slaves, working for THEIR pet projects, and doing NOTHING to earn the privilege. The intent of Congress is to serve in the best interest of THE PEOPLE. That no longer is true, and it breaks my heart to see what this country has become due to the hateful partisanship.

We have a POTUS that has pretty much destroyed the work of thousands of civil rights advocates over a long period of time in just a few short years, and divided this country in ways I haven’t seen since I was quite young. We have a Congress that undermines anything good that MIGHT be accomplished, on BOTH sides of the aisle. And we have a split between the haves, that work hard to succeed, and the have nots, who believe they are entitled to what they did not earn.  About half the country pay no taxes, and the other half  pay all of the taxes that support both those who won’t work, and a Congress that is barely functional, with all their grand USELESS ideas.

I can hear it now….  “I do too pay taxes!”  If you get a refund of the income tax taken out of your check, plus earned income credit, plus Lord knows what else, no…you don’t.  We have about 47% of the population not really contributing, and 539 individuals that are spending everything, PLUS trillions, that comes into the coffers.  Where is the logic???

STOP THE SPENDING! NOW!

Ready for Another Debt Limit Fight?
Amy Payne – The Foundry

Yes, it’s time to talk about the debt limit again.

Every time the U.S. bumps up against its debt ceiling, we start the cycle all over again. President Obama insists he won’t negotiate over the debt ceiling, but of course he will. Members of Congress grandstand about changing this vicious cycle, and then most clamber for the easy way out so they can return to matters they’d rather talk about, which is just about anything but cutting spending.

Meanwhile, federal spending continues its out-of-control expansion, and the debt clock keeps ticking.

We will hit the debt limit again on May 19. Treasury is expected to exhaust its cash management tools sometime in September or October. In the meantime, Washington’s periodic debt ceiling ritual will play out. Whatever happens, the debt limit should not be raised unless we are put on a path to balance the budget in 10 years. That’s the bottom line.

“Bumps In The Road”

8 May 2013, 7:37 am. No Comments. Filed under Opinion.

Unless you’ve been under a rock, or an Obama drooler, you’re quite aware of the unraveling of the White House, and his entire administration’s, story on Benghazi. Targeting an idiot who made a stupid YouTube video, and yes, it was stupid, was a huge mistake. The bigger mistake was thinking that just because Obama is on THEIR side, that our citizens would not be attacked, refusing adequate security for ANY of our interests in ANY part of the world. That’s just plain arrogant!

The continuous lies and cover up are unforgivable. At least Nixon had the decency to resign. It’s never been proven that he was even involved in the flashlight caper, although it was obvious that he was aware after the fact. Should we expect Obama to do the decent thing, after the constant lies? We should, but we won’t. We know better. We already know that doing the ‘decent’ thing is not in his genetic makeup.

Four Americans lost their lives in Benghazi due to the blatant incompetency of this administration. Three more in Boston. 14 at Ft Hood. 1 in Arkansas. A few that were, thankfully, thwarted by citizens that could have been devastating. When does it end? al Qaeda is NOT on the run. Muslims are AT WAR with us.

You invite our would be murderers into our country and your administration. It will never end until someone has the guts to stand up, and call what it really is….a war against freedom, perpetrated by evil….all over the civilized world.

Do the RIGHT thing, Mr Obama. For ONCE in your life, do the RIGHT thing!

Ghosts of Benghazi
James Carafano – The Foundry

The White House might have wanted to mute its response to the terrorist attack in Benghazi for fear of inflaming Anti-American sentiment. Perhaps the President did not want to acknowledge a successful attack by an al-Qaeda affiliate on the anniversary of 9/11—right before a national election. Maybe it was just all “Keystone Kops” at the national command authority on the night four Americans were killed at their posts. It could be a bit of all three. The problem is, nine months later, we still don’t know for sure.

Dramatic hearings are expected today as Gregory Hicks, a State Department official who was on the ground in Libya during the 9/11 attack when four Americans died, talks to a House panel.

They Are NOT “Unlawful Immigrants”

6 May 2013, 9:54 am. 2 Comments. Filed under Congress, Crime, Economy, Feckless Weasels, Illegals, Opinion.

They are criminals!  Illegal invaders, totally disregarding our laws, not caring about the damage done to our economy.  I won’t even bring up the many deaths attributed to them.

If a person wants to become an American, then they go through the proper channels.  If they want to bring their third world country standards and ‘values, then so many sneak across the border, or overstay their visa, or however they manage to get here.  I don’t believe all those who they are trying to give amnesty to want to be Americans.  Some, maybe.  But when you see these illegals protesting in our streets, carrying foreign flags, do you really think they want to BE Americans?  No!  They want the SPECIAL rights and privileges the government is trying to give them.

Congress never seems to read the bills they shove down our throats. They never understand the ramifications of all their feel good legislation. Is it any wonder that only 5% believe Congress represents the best and brightest of our country?  We are already so far in debt, the thought of adding $6.3 TRILLION more to that debt is just insane!

Congress and the POTUS need to step back, and for ONCE, use the gray cells God gave them!  I, for one, do not believe any of them represent the majority of LEGAL citizens.

New Heritage Study on the Cost of Amnesty

A Campaign Ploy

3 May 2013, 7:13 am. No Comments. Filed under Opinion.

Are the ‘gang of eight’ campaigning for votes? Illegal votes? Cuz honestly, that’s the ONLY reason I can see for making the U.S. of A. a third world country. Oh…wait a minute. If this were a third world country, they wouldn’t be offering up amnesty and “free” gifts. Nope, there would be bodies piling up. Good thing we’re more civilized…for the moment.  How about we stay civilized, and enforce the laws we have on the books, eh?  NO AMNESTY FOR CRIMINALS!  It’s really not that complicated.

The Gang of Eight Immigration Bill, Explained in One Infographic

Senators return to Washington next week to debate the Gang of Eight’s comprehensive immigration bill. Heritage President Jim DeMint has said the bill is “unfair, it costs too much, and it’s going to make the problem worse.” We’ve put together an infographic that explains some of the major problems with a “comprehensive” approach to immigration reform. Forward this to a friend to share these concerns.

We Can’t Afford This!!

2 May 2013, 6:45 am. No Comments. Filed under Congress, Illegals, ObamaCare, Opinion, Politics.

I really hate repeating myself! But I will….those people up in D.C. are certifiably insane! What sane person would put their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren so far in debt, they may never see the light of day?

Well, that’s what we’ve got right now. Crazy people running this country into the ground, destroying what made her great, and ignoring their true purpose, which was NOT to run our lives, and turn this into a third world communist country!

It’s not just the Democrats, there are a lot of Republicans who have been up there so long, they have forgotten what the real world is like. They ALL must go! Let’s start with Harry Reid, John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Nancy Pelosi, AND John Boehner! I’m not too sure we can afford to keep either Obama or Biden around either! Between these, and a few others, this is the worst so called leadership I have ever seen in my lifetime. Previous administrations have gone whole hog on stomping on the Constitution….Wilson and Roosevelt come to mind, but this one? Oh, it surely takes the cake!

5 Ways the Immigration Bill Is Like Obamacare
Amy Payne – The Foundry

Congress rammed Obamacare through without many Members even reading the bill. Now it’s applying that same frantic, complex, pie-in-the-sky legislating to immigration. The similarities are frightening.

1. Extreme Costs

The Government Accountability Office now projects that under the most realistic scenario, Obamacare will add $6.2 trillion to the primary deficit over the next 75 years. That’s a staggering figure, especially considering the fact that President Obama pledged in 2009, “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits—either now or in the future.”

The Gang of Eight’s immigration plan granting amnesty to those unlawfully in the U.S. will cost already burdened American taxpayers more than they can bear. When he last crunched the numbers during the 2007 amnesty debate, Heritage’s Robert Rector calculated that a general amnesty would cost some $2.5 trillion—after considering what legalized immigrants would likely pay in taxes and receive in government benefits and services. His updated research on the latest proposal, due out soon, is likely to find a higher price tag in 2013.

“Going Great”??

1 May 2013, 7:46 am. No Comments. Filed under ObamaCare, Opinion.

“53 percent “approve of efforts by opponents to change or stop the law”, eh? Well, I guess the other 47% aren’t paying insurance premiums, cuz if they were, it would be 100%. If your premiums haven’t gone up, you’re damn lucky, but not out of the woods. Not only have my premiums gone up, what those premiums cover has gone down!  I had to raise my deductible to lower my annual premiums from $17,000 to $14,000. And I don’t have a doctor’s visit co-pay… I pay it out of my own…well, the Mr’s….pocket! It’s cheaper!  We cannot afford this nonsense!  Pretty soon, we’ll have no choice but to drop our insurance, and pray neither of us has a catastrophic illness.  Oh… OOOPS!  Too late!

This bill has got to be repealed! It should have never been shoved down our throats by people who don’t have money worries like those of us in the REAL world! John Roberts should have used what little brains I thought he had, and struck down the whole damn thing as unconstitutional. Which it is!

Doctors are retiring. There won’t be enough doctors to serve the general public in the not too distant future. Doctors are refusing new patients. Doctors are refusing Medicaid/Medicare patients.  Companies are dropping coverage for their employees, or cutting their hours down to part time.   And this is ‘going great’ how? Mr Obama, you really need to get your sorry ass out of your cocoon, come out here in the real world, get a job, a REAL job, if you can, and see just how great that bullsh*t is going!  You, sir, are a liar!

President Says Obamacare Is Going Great
Amy Payne – The Foundry

Obamacare is “working fine,” President Obama said yesterday in his press conference. It’s made health insurance “stronger, better, more secure than it was before.”

There are just a few slight details left to be implemented, but we shouldn’t worry about those, according to the President.

Right. There’s nothing to worry about, which is why Members of Congress are trying to exempt themselves and their staffs from Obamacare.

In reality, health insurance premiums are rising, and states—meaning taxpayers—are staring down some astronomical expenses. A new study from the Government Accountability Office cites Obamacare and Medicaid costs as budget busters for states that are just starting to get their budgets in order.

Reality Check – The Economy Sucks!

30 April 2013, 9:41 am. No Comments. Filed under Economy, Opinion.

If I hear one more time from that jackass in chief, or his clown side kick, how much better the economy is doing, we might have to get a new TV. Yeah, for them, the economy is terrific….they having a high ol’ time, spending OUR money. But out here in the real world, people are hurting!

Sure, they show the ‘official’ unemployment rate at 7.7%. But that doesn’t tell the REAL story. Take a gander at this map. Find your county, see how many people are on food stamps. There isn’t a county in this country that doesn’t have folks on food stamps. And many areas of the country have a LOT of people who are in need. No doubt, there is a great deal of fraud, but still, those who have given up looking for work, and have fallen off the ‘unemployment’ roster, ARE in need. In need of a job that just isn’t there for them.  The real unemployment rate is 11.6%, and I suspect even that is still too low.

With the outrageous costs of Obamacare (which members of Congress now believe they shouldn’t have to endure), the thousands upon thousand of new regulations, businesses closing their doors for good, the cost of food rising at an alarming rate, how can they stand there, with a straight face, and tell us the economy is improving.  No, it is not, and I, for one, would appreciate if the blatant lies would cease.  I suspect Congress’ approval ratings are so low because the Senate is led by one of the most corrupt Majority leaders in my lifetime.  The House has worked hard for solutions that are never brought to the Senate floor because of him, and he takes his marching orders from the POTUS.  How that man (Obama) has any approval is totally beyond me.  I don’t care if he’s ‘likeable’.  He’s incompetent!  The buck stops with him.  So, if you aren’t able to find work, look at the White House, and stop blaming those who DO understand the dilemma.

Most of those in Washington haven’t been in a grocery store in years.  They have no idea how difficult it is to make ends meet.  They have a guaranteed salary, twice, and in many cases, three times the amount of the average hard working citizen.  PLUS they get to travel around the world, all at our expense.  I won’t even go into the Obama’s expense account.

It’s time to stop all the ‘distractions’, and get down to the serious issues facing this country today.

Remember the Economy? It’s Still Bad
Derrick Morgan – The Foundry

According to a poll earlier this year, voters have a higher opinion of cockroaches than Congressmen. President Obama’s personal popularity remains solid, but his job approval rating is going down. Why are our elected officials unpopular?

It might just be because they are not listening. In poll after poll, the American people continue to tell Washington that their top priority is the economy. A recent Fox News poll asked participants what is the most important issue facing the nation. The results: the economy got 42 percent, deficit 17 percent, guns 5 percent, and immigration 4 percent.

President Obama inherited a weak economy, to be sure, but his policies, including Obamacare with its costly expected mandates on businesses and the Dodd-Frank financial services regulations have made the situation worse. Even when we see some economic growth, the jobs growth has been feeble. People have been leaving the workforce. Heritage’s James Sherk noted recently, “Labor force participation dropped to 63.3 percent, the lowest rate since 1979..” America needs to get its people back to productive work, not recruit Americans to start taking food stamps.

Just One Story Of Millions

26 April 2013, 9:22 am. No Comments. Filed under Borders, Opinion.

Every family has a story. When did they come, how they came, were they here to meet those ships way back when, were they brought here against their will? I’ve told mine several times, so I’ll refrain from repeating myself. Needless to say, they came legally, or were here to meet the ships.

Have you ever been to big party, or outdoor concert? Depending on the venue, you were either invited, or you paid for your ticket to enter. Some people don’t want to have to pay for the ticket, so they stand outside, and when no one is looking, they crash the gate. Mayhem ensues, and the event is ruined for everyone who paid (or were invited). The gate crashers have a high ol’ time at the expense of the paid or invited guests. Their actions are criminal…vandalism, trespassing, assault, and some get trampled to death. THAT is our current situation, with regards to current ‘immigration’.

People invited, or asking for an invitation, to the event have stood in line, waiting their turn, only to be told they must wait a lot longer because of the gate crashers. Does this seem like a fair way to run an event? Once in the door, if they ever get there, they voluntarily contribute. Unfortunately, part of what they contribute are in taxes to support those who were NOT invited, or have received an invitation (refugees), but do nothing to contribute.

There is something so royally screwed up with this scenario! Do we need reform? Yes, as a matter of fact, we do. We need to reform our way of thinking. Well, the administration does, that’s for sure! We need to reform this catch and release nonsense. We need to secure our borders. We need to invite those who will contribute to our society and assimilate. Those who won’t, need to be ‘invited’ to leave.

The criminals are creating an element of prejudice. Yes, I do have prejudices towards those who sneak break into my home, trash my furniture, kill my children, and expect me to feed and clothe them.  I am offended that our government actually believes WE should support those who come illegally, no matter what country of origin, and be happy to do so.  I am doubly offended by those in the general population who believe the same.  “No human is illegal”?  Well, when you break the law, you ARE a criminal, and should be treated as such.

Many who come really are looking for a better life, a brighter future for their children, and are will to work to achieve that goal.  However, far too many who come see this country as a ‘free ride’, and are no better than leeches, expecting…no…DEMANDING “rights” they have not earned.  Why should people, who have been waiting for years, even decades, who have skills that would contribute to our society, to the benefit of all, have to be shoved to the back of the line in order to accommodate the criminals leeches?  The answer is simple:  THEY SHOULDN’T!

Why My Family Came to America
Jessica Zuckerman – The Foundry

More than any other nation in history, the United States has made itself a new home for immigrants in search of a better life. It embraces those who come to this country honestly—often with nothing more than their work ethic—in search of the promises and opportunities of the American Dream.

As a second-generation American, I think of this promise often. Each and every day, when I see my grandfather’s Ellis Island records hanging on my wall, I remember what he went through to come to this country. I remember how he left behind all he had ever known in Hungary to escape discrimination and the destruction left in the wake of World War I; how he gave up everything so that he could offer his children and grandchildren the promise of freedom and opportunity in a new land.

“….fear the people….”

I’ve highlighted the names of the “gang of eight” so you won’t forget them. If you want to read this bill, also known as JOLT ACT of 2013, you can read the whole text of gobbledy gook here.  While there are a few issues that MUST be addressed, and should have been a LONG time ago, the is a lot in this bill that shouldn’t even be considered!  At some point, I just might go through the whole 844 pages, and address those, but for now, do your own homework!  :D

IMHO, they should have made issues addressed in the Congressional Findings (Section 2) THE bill, and left the rest for another time, when we are back on our feet, so to speak.

(1) The passage of this Act recognizes that the primary tenets of its success depend on securing the sovereignty of the United States of America and establishing a coherent and just system for integrating those who seek to join American society.

Our ‘sovereignty’ has become a really bad joke.  And as for ‘integrating’?  Waving the Mexican, or other foreign flags, DEMANDING ‘rights’, is not integrating.  Refusing to learn the language of the land is not integrating.  Bringing ‘third world’ habits and policies and insisting WE adapt to YOUR way, is not integrating.

(2) We have a right, and duty, to maintain and secure our borders, and to keep our country safe and prosperous. As a nation founded, built and sustained by immigrants we also have a responsibility to harness the power of that tradition in a balanced way that secures a more prosperous future for America.

Well, our borders are NOT secure, and we are NOT safe.  The drug cartels have made themselves quite at home in cities like Chicago, a place where murder is so common place, with some of the strictest ‘gun control’ laws…in the world…it has become a poster child for how NOT to run a city, county….country!

These are the two major issues that should have been addressed, and the rest left to other bills, broken down individually, instead of lumping the whole chit works into one bill.  Congress has a real bad habit of throwing in crap, and this bill is no different.  Address these issues FIRST.  Get the border secured, which will take YEARS, and remove the criminal element from out streets.  Shoot the sons of beeches if necessary, but get them away from our children.  Does it make sense for a legal citizen, or resident, to fear for their lives every time they walk out their front doors?  HELL NO!  So, why aren’t those in Washington concerned about US?  Because it’s all politics!

No self respecting member of the U.S. Senate would EVER introduce such garbage.  Then again, we have no self respecting representatives in the government anymore, and they SURE don’t respect us!  WE want our borders secured, immediately, but this is not a priority.  WE want our streets safe from criminals, and criminals removed, but this also, is not a priority.

What is the priority?  Votes.  11 MILLION new voters, the majority of whom will make sure we continue to lose our God given, Constitutionally guaranteed, liberties by assuring that the Democrats>liberals>progressives>socialists>commies will have a strangle hold on power.

This bill, as is, is something this country can’t afford, financially, or morally.  I’ve heard so many spewing on the idjit box how “no one is an illegal person’.  Well, they are wrong.  Being a person isn’t illegal.  Breaking into someone else’s home, expecting them to feed, clothe, take you to the doctor, and pay for all your wants and whims IS illegal, is IS a crime.  Handing over the keys to the house is just plain ignorant!

“Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX) once noted that three groups spend other people’s money: thieves, children, and politicians—and all three need supervision.”  Politicians have shown themselves to be both childish, and thieves.  It’s way past time for WE, The People to regain control of our country, and OUR money!  Any politician that fails to uphold his/her oath of office should be run out on a rail!  WE need to put the fear of God back into them, and the fear of us!

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”  Thomas Jefferson

American Families Cannot Afford the Cost of Amnesty
Derrick Morgan – The Foundry

Our nation is going broke, and now is not the time to increase burdens on American families.

The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (S. 744)—commonly called the “Gang of Eight bill” after the eight Senators who came up with it, Charles Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Michael Bennet (D-CO), John McCain (R-AZ), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC)—includes amnesty for some 11 million unlawful immigrants. That amnesty would further burden taxpayers and weaken our fiscal situation. Congress should not rush to pass the bill without understanding the cost to the American taxpayer, especially when key research identifying and calculating those costs is nearly complete.

We have more than $12 trillion in public debt and tens of trillions of dollars more in unfunded obligations that we have no way to afford, thanks to promises made by past and present politicians. With this in mind, today’s political leaders must consider the fiscal impact of amnesty and a path to citizenship that would enable millions of unlawful immigrants to qualify for costly welfare and entitlement programs.

Politicizing Terror

Yesterday, I laid out 10 short items that would go a long way to making sure that we are safer. We’ll never be 100% safe, because there is evil in this world, and it is growing.  A couple of items were a bit ‘tongue in cheek’, but not completely.

Using the deaths of 4 human beings to push an agenda for amnesty, is making my coffee curdle.  Yet, apparently, that is what our so called representatives have been doing for the last few days.  Not one of them is stating the FACT that all attacks, or attempted attacks, have one thing in common.  Even left wing pundit, Bob Beckel, is more aware of the common thread, and isn’t afraid to state it publicly. ISLAM! Whether you choose to believe the truth, and realize there is nothing peaceful about that cult, or continue to bury your head in the sand and blame America for such actions, it is islam that is at the root of 99.9% of all terror attacks around the world.

So called ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ would have done NOTHING to stop the attack in Boston. NOTHING! Perhaps, if we had a competent administration, but even then, if a piece of crap is determine to murder people, they will find a way…if one fails, then another is waiting in the wings to take his/her place. There is a long line of thugs willing to murder for their pedophile prophet. Many were born here, many have lived in the country for years, many are sneaking across the borders, north and south, and some are being INVITED IN by this administration….all with that one thing in common!

The media is shamelessly promoting the ‘nice kid’ stories. NOTE TO LAME STREAM: Nice kids don’t murder children! Or college students! Or police officers! Finding the truth is important, but it doesn’t matter, at this point, if they were ‘lone wolves’, part of a small cell, or a larger organization. They were NOT nice kids! They CHOSE to murder INNOCENT human beings! Stop using them as an excuse to score political points with CRIMINAL aliens!

Don’t Fall Into the Boston Immigration Trap
Jessica Zuckerman – The Foundry

As the country continues to reel over the attacks in Boston last week, some in Washington quickly looked for ways to use the attacks to justify their political goals on border security and immigration reform.

On both sides of the aisle, politicians and commentators were quick to assert that the fact that the two suspected bombers were immigrants was reason enough to call for changes to everything, from border security and stricter background checks to amnesty.

It’s unfortunate that people are trying to spin the tragic events in Boston to advance their legislative agendas, but it’s also falling into an emotional trap—the Boston attackers should not be the focus of this immigration debate.
